average and definitely not thin but obesity is just gross-in Men and Women.
I thinky you'll find that women are equally repulsed by obese men as men are by
obese women. I have read that obesity is unattractive because it is considered a
biological indicator of bad genes. Which is true because there are so many health
problems that go along with it.

Depends on body proportions and how much weight the person is actually carrying around. Women are more resistant to cardiovascular disease, and those chicks weren't exactly obese. Infertility? Again, that depends. Up to a certain point, chubby, not obese women are more fertile than skinny ladies. It's not something that can be viewed in black and white.
Being chubby is often healthier than being skinny, too. BMI fails to take proportions and ratios into account, and what the ideal healthy weight range actually is.
Yes, obesity is often unhealthy, but so is being stick thin.

Plus, I don't see animals who carry extra fat reserves suffering heart attacks. Bears being one prime example.

Anubis, chubby and obese are Not the same thing! Obesisty is being extremely fat. Women are obese when their belly is signifigantly larger than their hips and bust(like those 2 fat women posted earlier). Now I certainly dont like skinny waifs any more or less than really, REALLY fat ladies. AFAIC, extremes of weight are unattractive and unhealthy. I like women who have curves but not giant fatrolls-you know what I mean . Even if what you say is true that OBESE women are more resistant to cardiovascular disease than men, I see no evidence that they are more resistant to diabetes. BTW, try asking a woman if she digs fat, Obese men...

Get your point, but those chicks weren't exactly REALLY overweight. Really, they didn't have rolls and rolls of belly fat in amounts that are unhealthy.

My sister-in-law, who was raised in Japan, told me that, there, the Western "stocky" is considered obese. What we would casually call "He/she could stand to lose a few pounds" -- that's considered the extreme over there.

Well, they are mainly seafood eaters -- maybe that's it, but also there may be genetic factors.
