People who oppose gay marriage are people who clearly favor the group over the individual. They want conformity to the social norms codified into law in order to punish those who dont follow the herd.

Why do you people talk about religion in regards to marriage? Religion has NOTHING to do with it. Marriage is a civil ceremony, regulated not by any church, but by the government. Ministers and Priests are empowered to perform marriage ceremonies, but so are JP's, judges, and ship captains. If religions want to deny people their rights in this matter, they are free to do so. But the Government is not allowed to discriminate, to give civil rights to some, but not others.

I'm not sure why homosexuals having equal civil rights is now apparently a blow to religious freedom, even more so specificly to the Christain church. The in-church argument of wheither homosexuality is sin or not has not really been finnished. There are openly gay bishops.

And I don't see how its ok for certain religious groups to discriminate against gays while its not ok for others. To say that someone can discriminate due to their religion is setting a double standard.

False. Your rights depend on various things, probably the most apparent is age, some minorities have special rights....... Marital status is just one of many, and if they were not allowed to do so, there would be no marriage at all! Because even if you would include gay marriage it still gives married people rights that others haven't. Is it allowed to exclude someone from tax cuts you recieve when married just because this someone can't find a mate?? YES, because economically it makes sense. You could go on like this...

No one is denied the right of marriage as it is defined. Anyone can marry someone of the opposite sex.

Provided that they are both unmarried, of legal age, and consent freely to the marriage.

If it's only gay marriage i could care less, if it's about adopting children then it's getting sketchy.
Males tend to be more violent than females, and most of the cases when we hear about rape or anything it's males to. I would say children adopted by homosexual couples are at a larger risk than normal to lesbian couples.

And other thing i see is, they cant get pregnant, females can get pregnant, it's more naturel for them, dunno. the only thing i'm actualy against is for homosexuals to adopt children, dont care if they want to marry each other <_<

Speaking as a woman who has had 3 husbands, the "one man one woman" framework can be gamed by straight people, too.

If the system were truly "one man one woman", I'd be still w/number one, who turned out to be a leech.
