My Stallone-esque small left eye and my giant nose seem amplified on most photos. No to mention my half-assed attempt at smiling.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you're stunning! Why o why can't you be 20 years older and 4800 miles closer? {shakes fist at fates}

Good luck! My nose can look large in photographs, too. I often turn to the side a bit, give a 3/4 profile, for that reason. And yours suits your face, I think.

lol at "Stallone-esque eye". I didn't even notice it.

You're good looking, but your "normal" photos present you as a good guy. Your avatar... Well, you know how I feel about it.

Nothing wrong with your nose...

I agree. Boo is very charismatic (if slightly trollish), and his physical appearance is average at worst, so I don't get why women ignore him if he has his picture up. (Well, depending on the picture and how trollish/serious it is).

But the problem with dating websites is that you don't really get to know a person like you do in a forum. I don't have any experience with the dating websites, but it seems they are all about contacting people and flirting directly, instead of getting to know a person via messages that are unrelated to flirting.

I think Boo's style works better in a forum environment.

What about my avatar, what does it say? I presume it gives the impression that I love nature and animals; the outdoors and such.

It's a matter of gender disparity in activity, at least in my location.

When I do Search of 'Online now", there are usually like 2 -3 girls active (and 1 is always there 24/7 there, addicted to quizzes most probably), while there is usually like dozen on guys.

Same differences when searching for members last active a week ago or a month.

So the target girl would probably flip the dozens of profiles, skipping any average-looking pictures. "Average - next / average - next / ugly - block / hot - checking/ hmmm...no pic, but funny, I wonder how does he look like......"

Also, I think my current avatar is far more appealing than my real face. ;)

This. It's kind of cure, though.

Well Boo, what do you want me to say? I've tried to be objective. I think you are good looking, but not to the point of an instant ovaries explosion, so that's why I put "average at worst". But nothing wrong about your physical appearance. I'd sure prefer to see your face as your avatar instead of that Boo head.

But I think the main problem is that there aren't enough women in your region so those 5 that are active are super-picky or something. Is there a local dating website or something? Or a local forum that girls frequent?

I think you're spot on with this, with dating sites the famles can be a lot more... discerning whereas if you're a male you have to be proactive as you're competing with so many others. Also it doesn't help that I live two hundred miles from anywhere that isn't a prime filming location for The Wickerman, so any relationships pretty much have to be long distance. *whine whine*. Still, got to keep trying eh?

I suspect this is true as well, I'm usless on forums though I really should post more.

The focal length of the lens does that.

If the camera is very close to you and the photo is wide angle, it will exaggerate the nose and make the face more 'barrel' like. If the photographer steps back a bit and zooms in, the face will appear more flat and the nose slimmer.

That sure explains a lot, since even my face seems larger than normal on that last photo.
