Do racial preferences make you a racist?

I'm wondering how the guys here who have racial preferences in dating would feel if most white women said things like "I don't date white guys or asians or anyone but black guys with big dicks. That's not racist and I can't help it, it's just my natural preference. It's what I'm attracted to and I can't control it."

If you really couldn't date someone because you could never be attracted to someone with their skin colour, it means you are racist as well as shallow as s**t (because skin colour relates to absolutely nothing about personality or goals or interests or anything else, any more than hair or eye colour do). It's kind of amazing--and very sad--how many people can't see that (or simply don't want to because they don't want to have to address their mindset about certain things.) Seems like it's mostly white dudes with that attitude, too. Why does that aspect of it not surprise me, that white dudes would be more prone to "racial preferences" in dating?

Nobody's said that. I don't know what you're reading. But you can't deny that there are physical features that are very common amongst some races. Like I said, white people can have blue, green, hazel, brown eyes, etc. They can have blonde, ginger, dark brown, light brown, black hair. There is more diversity in eye colour and hair colour with white people than there is with most other races, and those things help people stand out. If all white people had blonde hair and blue eyes, we'd all look pretty similar to each other.

Ok, so when it comes to physical attraction, that begs the questions again:

So every woman from that other race will fail to make you excited sexually?

Do they produce some sort of magical pheromone chemical that makes your dick flaccid? So it's a hopeless case to develop any physical attraction toward them?

Are they like some another human-like species and therefore it's impossible for you to develop any sexual attraction toward them?

Sorry, but I don't buy it that one is naturally incapable to find even a 1 member of an entire race as attractive (who may be in millions).

That is not natural, dear, this is fed into your mind culturally.

Funny enough, this actually happened to me once with someone I was romantically interested in. I respected her preferences and let her get on with her life.


And people have preferences for eye and hair colour too. Some people won't date people of a deviating eye colour or hair colour for a partner. I remember a stage within my adolescence in which I was pretty much only interested in blondes. At that stage, I was only willing to date white girls.

Now, my preferences have changed a lot, and there are certain racial groups I'm attracted to and a couple of racial groups that I'm seldom attracted to.


So now grouping white dudes into a box of contempt isn't racist?

And those people are completely idiots.

So an entire race is a "Type" now?

There are literally dozens and maybe hundreds of ethnicities and groups within the same race, with diversified physical and facial features and even different shades of skin colors, and every individual with different personality..... and yet it happens thatall of them, every single one of them, cannot be his/her type?

Why? Is it written on DNA?

Assuming the child grows up into a functional, independent adult, I think it’d be quite tempting for them to have children of their own with someone of a different race just to give their parents the finger.

It's possible. Especially if he/she is only interested in a white partner.

I'm pretty sure most people are open to dating members from at least one race other than their own.

You know that also reminds me they're doing that thing where they homogenize Asian people - who you know, are more than just east Asian people. Apparently all the other non-Eastern Asian people don't exist.

So people who have preferences for eye colour, say blue eyes, that meet people who they are really compatible with and share a lot of interests and that they enjoy the company of but don't have blue eyes won't date those compatible people just because they don't conform to meaningless physical characteristics that have nothing to do with who the person is inside, those people with those shallow preferences are understandable and not idiots? Because they strike me as idiotic.

All the guys I have dated (less than a dozen, but a decent sampling) have been different from each other in their physical characteristics--some were short and some tall, some dark and swarthy and some light and pale, blue eyes, brown eyes, light fine straight hair and dark kinky/curly hair, round faces and square faces, and different races and nationalities. The only things they really had in common with each other is that they had some personal characteristics that made them attractive to me, something about their personalities drew me to them and made them interesting. That's the way human relationships are built. If you're only looking for casual sex then maybe it makes sense to concentrate solely on physical features, but if your aim is to form meaningful relationships with other humans then you have to look at more than physical features our you are going to be perpetually disappointed and unable to make lasting connections with people.

People's skin colour has nothing to do with who they are inside--it dictates nothing about their personalities or interests and therefore makes no sense to use as a quality to judge compatibility. If you look at another human and all you can see is a skin colour that you don't find attractive rather than the unique qualities of the person inhabiting that skin, then yeah you are a racist person.
