So there is this girl I am trying to become good friends with...and maybe more. So I bought tickets to her ballet performance. Now I was thinking I would bring her flowers (I am from TX and it was always a custom to give a woman flowers after a performance). I really like roses so I figured I would get her one....either yellow or pink (since pink mean elegance). In fact I am pretty sure I will just go with pink. I am just going to give her one. Does this sound like a good idea?

It sounds like a very lovely gesture to me. :)

I honestly dont think that this is a good idea, because your kindof moving a little too fast. I think if you hang with her a few more times then yes getting her flowers would be a kind idea to give to her. I think its a cute idea for a guy to already be thinking about what to get his girl that he likes, but you dont want to move too fast and then loose her.

Well like I said it is also a custom, for me atleast, to buy women (be it my sister or whoever), flowers after performances.

I guess I just don't want to come off as pushy.

That's the sort of thing you'd do if you are more interested in "maybe more" than "good friends" I say pick one of those as objective and be consistent with that objective, but don't mix them up. I.e: If you want a friend , don't do the flowers thing, if you want a girlfriend buy the flowers already.

Sounds great :) If it looks like she's uneasy or it turns out on the night she has a boyfriend already, you can just explain that it's just a friendly Texan custom.

What colour to go for depends on how brave you are feeling. Yellow is a very friendly colour, whilst pink definitely signifies deeper feelings. That said, roses of any kind are sure to be appreciated :)

If this is the same girl you mentioned in other posts then give her the rose.

The point being missed here is that he is not TAKING her to a performance, he is going to see her perform. It is customary to give flowers after someone performs, whether they are friends or intimates.

Yep. I think it will be a lovely gesture. Nothing has to be read into it other than "congratulations on your performance." It shows you are excited for that person, end of story.
