Another woman has come up who I might have a chance with. She, like another girl I've mentioned on here, works at the supermarket. Where, for some reason, my chances with women are all concentrated.

This lady is significantly older than me. Older than 50 for sure, and I'm 31. But there is a clear, obvious attraction going on, and she is very obviously attracted to me. I've only seen her twice (from going in the morning a couple of times lately rather than the evening) but the first time she saw me she had that real 'love at first sight' look. And she has that look of being distracted, when she sees me. I'm excited about this.

Has anyone here had experience of dating or having a relationship with a much older partner - especially if it's the lady who's much older? I just think they're better suited to me than girls my age or younger. Would you be as likely to go through 'games' with older ladies? This all assumes she's available, of course.

If anyone is attracted to me, it's far from unusual for them to be much older. In fact, for me, it's the norm.

BTW her name is Cathy.

This phenomenon is becoming more popular. I think those types of women are known informally as "cougars". Personally it's not for me, but if you've got something going, go for it by all means.

I don't think the name "cougar" can be used to describe, say, a 23-year-old woman that dates me, a 20-year-old? I'm not too clear on the definition.

I think men go for older women because such women are less likely to play games. Just as a lot of women have wised up to players' sweet talk and manipulation, men are starting to wise up to the games that the "hot and knows it" types oftentimes play. As a result, they start to recognize and avoid the kinds of women that play games. Also, an older woman probably had a broken heart in the past, so she'll be more sympathetic to a man's sincere effort to get to know her, than a younger woman will be. For instance, she may turn down a man more politely and directly, seeing a connection between rejection and a broken heart.

I have her name was Yolanda, a Philippino whose lived here for over 15 years. However, general knowledge and intelligence are rather limited. The stuff she didn’t knows never fails to amaze me, it was almost like she just entered the country and knows nothing about it.

She is around 50 to 55 years old it is hard to tell with an Asia, she claimed that she was 30, but she is not 30 buy any stretch of the imagination .She claims to have 5 five your old child and another who is 10. But she don’t want me to see them, she said that she couldn’t trust me. I said meeting up in Starbucks with them is out of the question then. She has a brother who she often talks about is suppose to be 40, but she asked me to buy some medicine over internet, medicine for Parkinson’s Disease for him. Don’t members of her family have nice rounded number for their age. 5, 10, 30 and 40 years. It don’t take a rocket scientist to find out she is telling a while lot of cobblers.

I don’t think that I could date a woman of the same ethnic group who is above 50. It would just seam a bit gay. Yolander does have a cute button nose and beautiful eyes.

It can be common Aspie to go out with an older woman. Older woman feel old and left on the shelf and espies just feel left on the shelf. So two desperate people often get together; sometime it can work, sometimes it does not.

Did you ever watch the episode of The Simpsons when the Comic-Book-Guy dated Seymour Skinner’s mother.

Yes. Very disturbing. :)

I wouldn't date someone that old though.

I think men go for younger woman because they are more likely healthier and have healthy children. I see why a 45 your old man would not want to date a 45+ year old woman, because of the difficulty having children. Having children is the main reason why sex was invented in first place ,no?

I think guys also tend to have a thing for younger girls because they seem more innocent and child-like, and men want to feel dominance over someone else, even if it is just at a trivial level. At my age (20), I'd go for girls as young as 17 and as old as 22. At age 17 they're still in high school and have that bubbly side to them, but at age 22 they have greater maturity. It has become more common for girls to date a man who is slightly younger, but it's still uncommon overall.

Personally, I'm not into older women, but rather women/girls my age who actually ACT their age, which is extremely rare. Most 17/18/19 year olds (or most people under 30 really) act so immature, and immaturity's one of my biggest turn-offs.

Yes it might be the case that some men go for the innocent and child like woman. But can you explain why? I think not. And why woman don’t go for innocent child like men. Men and woman are physically different, so they develop different personality to best cope with what they got.

There is always a bio-logical evolutionary explanation for human dating behaviour. Example why do you think that man like big breast:

1 because subconsciously men are attracted to a woman who is capable of feeding their young plenty of milk.
2. Because men woman with bigger preasts look attractive
3. It reminds men of the time they suckled on their mother’s breasts.

Answers 2 and 3 are dogmatic answer simply because those answer are question in their own right. Why do woman with bigger breasts look more attractive? and why should a man be attracted to woman based on his memories, and not choosing the most suitable mate.

Im an older woman 47 in a relationship with a somewhat younger man 40. I've dated men much younger than that. My BF has always had a preference for older (and chubby too -- lucky me!!)

I think the attraction of younger men to older women has to do with maturity, lack of headgames, sexual skill and perhaps nurturing. Also, for those not interested in having children at this point, it's a no-brainer. Been there, done that, not interested in doing it again. With the exception of my current relationship, these were sexual relationships ... young men and older women are well-matched in terms of being at their sexual primes.

Number two and three are dumb, even if there is some truth to it. I talk a lot about how women should look beyond how many girls a guy has kissed, or his confidence level, but guys are very shallow in this particular area. I personally don't really care about the size of that particular body part, and I don't see any logic to #3, for I don't think of my mother when I look at a young woman.

You might not be interesting in having children but my natural preference of someone who is younger and more fertile still exists.

Another example you might not be interested in having children but you would still prefer woman with big breast. As I said in my post about woman with bigger breast can produce more milk for their young, that is the origins of men being attracted to woman with bigger breast in first place.

that's what makes the world go 'round -- people have different tastes. I was commenting on my experience, and what I know to be the attractors for young men who ARE attracted to older women. I understand the biological imperative to innately choose good reproductive stock. Fecundity is perhaps the most basic biological plus in the mating game, on an evolutionary level.

When I was 27 I began dating a 42 year old woman and this became an almost five year relationship. We're still close friends now.

The only advice I can give on the matter is that I don't recommend it for a first relationship. It doesn't matter which partner is older; If you're too young and inexperienced to know what you want, or can expect, from a relationship then it's just going to end up being totally one-sided.
