Right, so to atrract women you need to be able to keep the conversation going by being witty. I can understand that. But how the hell does one pull it off. If I could find some kind of magical book on how to be witty, written specifically by aspies, the U.S. marines wouldn't be able to hold me down. So how do you be witty?

You can't really "learn" to be witty; it has to be natural.

LOL see I don't have the parts to respond to that. I guess we'll all have to find another way to attract women. Anyone here know Wiccan spellcasting?

To be witty you just have to coat your tongue in silver. In other words in crease your vocabulary...

That's a very small part of it. A good vocabulary helps. I would describe being witty as having the ability to connect concepts in an interesting and amusing way.

To become a better witter, work on your punmanship. :D

That starts with good vocabulary and a literal mind that easily makes non-sequitur connections. Actually, they're usually too sequitur, that's what makes them seem illogical and silly to humans.

Its relatively easy for the Aspergian mind to make what seem like jokes to the neurotypical brain, but are actually misunderstandings borne of the assumption that a person means what they say. You just need to learn to allow them to continue believing that you meant it as intentional humor.

Reading Shakespeare's Insults may help develop some rl wittyness or could develop strange looks in others. *shrugs*

It takes a long time, but it can be practiced. It's more a matter of developing a "Verbal trick-bag." It's not unlike the methods jazz musicians use to work on improvisation.

 I guess I was.

I've always had trouble with 'what's a normal/typical/appropriate response' so I just kind of became witty out of nowhere. It's helped me in a lot of situations, but it also has come back to bite me before because since I'm a female, when I use a lot of sarcasm I get called mean and a b***h and rude, etc. Like the OP said, there is no magical way to become witty. But as a girl I can tell you that you don't have to have wit to be attractive. You just need a sense of humor, mostly to be able to laugh at yourself. A guy that makes a lot of jokes but can't handle being poked fun at is less fun than a guy who isn't the clown of your bunch but can laugh at himself. There have been studies saying men prefer to be the 'funny' one in the couple, so if you feel like you aren't, you're sort of a catch for girls that have a sense of humor like mine. (Sorry that doesn't seem to make much sense, lol.)

I've been told I am witty. I think it just requires a love of language and an ability to use vocabulary in a humorous way.

I thought you just needed to sniff airplane glue until you felt witty.
