The way I go about it is first I spend a lot of time with a friend but right at the moment the only friends I can find are here. Maybe I try to hard. I don't know another way of going about it. I take a lot of intreast in the girl any girl. Then I can't help stop my self from getting attached quickly. I don't mean to rush things. Maybe I'm afraid that if I don't I lose the intreast of the girl. That she'll pass me by. I don't want that happen. Can anyone and I mean anyone help me with this?

$1 for comments and $30 for critism. lol

Some people only hit this website once a day. I didn't pick up your message until 10pm. Give people TIME!

I'll echo that. Same applies with my photography entries. No-one seems to read or reply to them, but give them time and people will eventually. :)

The best way to develop a real attachment with a girl instead of a fantasy one (based on your imagination and without any actual useful knowledge about her), is to get some alone time with her. So the trick is to ask her out when you're alone - so any potential rejection is not too public.

So what's your idea of the ideal first encounter - how would you ask her out, what would you ask her to do, where would you ask her to go? For me this is usually where it all goes pear shaped, especially when it is an extremely enthusiatic bloke asking...

For starters - have something low pressure in mind that is something she likes doing - you should have been able to chat with her long enough to know what her idea of a low pressure social outing is - cafe? museum? beach? park? window shopping? - ideally day time and something that involves a bit of activity so you have something to talk about. If you plan to go to movies - I'd be suggesting this (if she likes movies), after a coffee date, where you can find out what movies are on that she'd like to see and what movies she's seen that she liked. But when you go to the movie and plan to eat, see the early movie and eat after - again much less pressure and you can talk about the movie.

Never talk endlessly about how crap you are socially - this just makes it worse. You really don't want someone who feels sorry for you and most girls are going to see carping on about all that is wrong in your life as the gushings of an unattractive pathetic loser, so don't do it.

Do check out the red flag list on Heartless b*****s, there are little things that are easy to get right, like being clean, freshly shaven (if you do get as far as a snog - you don't want to give her stubble rash), with clean neat clothes, being on time, and polite. If she does tease you about your clothes, invite her to give you an outfit makeover at the local shopping mall.

I'd like to add - after several alone together outings, you can tell her that you find her extremely attractive but you're willing to wait if she needs some time. If she thinks there is no way ever, let you down now, nice and gently.

If she does say no, still be nice to her when you see her around, she will respect you more for not dropping her like a hot potato and not bitching about her letting your expectations down. This can stand you in good stead perhaps with her friends later. However if you do be mean to her if she says she's not interested, she will know she made the right decision and you really are just a jerk.

Never tell a shy girl you don't want to have sex with her. I know that some of the "pick up women" sites say to do this, but don't - it just makes you look gay or dishonest. You might tell a girl you do find her very attractive but you don't need to rush things, no pressure. Pay close attention to what she says and does and if you're not sure you can ask directly for what you want, once you do feel she's happy in your company. Guys that have done best with me have actually said stuff like "how bout a kiss", this is usually when we're very close and very alone and just chatting. If the guy didn't say that, I'd never be sure what he wanted. But that's me being aspie I think. NT girls might be more physically forward.

Thanks and I am an Aspie. Well I'll try those things. If I ever find one.

From personal experience and from what a friend told me, that is exactly what will make most sane people run away screaming. I find that any relationship in which you care more than the other easily leads to the following scenario: the other person feels obliged to reciprocate, obliged to feel as strongly as you do, and will resent that unwelcome obligation. It feels like emotional blackmail to them. This can happen even if you don't need them to feel as strongly as you do, if the mismatch isn't all that dramatic, and if you are not looking for an intimate relationship. It is just about guaranteed to happen if the impression you give is something like "I have enough emotion to love anyone, and I'm desperate! Take me, take me now!!"

You may also think about this: what sort of person would enjoy immediate devotion from a comparative stranger? Is that really someone you would want?

Come on just go out and say that I'm a total loser and that I won't be able to find one but that's way I'm getting from everyone.

Calm down, man. I'm a total loser too, and have absolutely no hope of finding happiness with a girl I've been obsessed with for the past few years, but saying you'll never be able to find someone is just kinda foolish. Don't make judgements about a future that you can't fully see down to the last detail, especially when there is time to change what it will be. There's always some hope, and if something's difficult to do, then it's all the more worth doing.

Are you a loser? I can't tell you because I've never met you before.

Aw, I don't think that's what people are saying. It seems to me that even if you're getting attatched to the girl, you might just need to project a more casual image. In general, girls (for the record, I am one  ) tend to get scared by over-eager guys, even if they're perfectly nice and cool in every other way. I don't know why this is, it sort of just is. If that girl you're into is also into you, she probably won't let you pass her by.

I won't say that because it's not what I mean.

As far as I can tell, I have at least once given someone the impression of being desperate. I can't be sure, because she has long stopped talking to me, and any attempt to explain that any such impression was a misunderstanding would only reinforce the impression further. With these things, how you really feel matters rather less for practical purposes than what people think you feel, and in my experience, a mismatch in perceived emotional commitment can get you into trouble long before people think you're desperate. You asked for advice, and from the extremely limited information I have, I believe that you are trying too hard. You must have thought of this. You specifically asked about it.

You know something is going wrong, you have given some thought to what it is and come up with a reasonable idea. You have the brains to ask for comments, which is more than I did when I was trying to work out what was going on. If that makes you a loser, you are still doing better than I did.

You have to decide when you have enough information to decide what you need to do, and then put it into practice. I have offered the best information I can based on what little I know about your situation. It's up to you what you do with it.
