Once again, I've had a girl trick me into thinking that she likes me. The story goes as follows:

Two days ago, I was working in my cafe, when this one girl sitting at a table with a couple friends smiles at me. She engages in conversation with me, telling me that I'm really cute. She tells me that her name is Chrissy, what high school she goes to, and writes out her name and phone number on a piece of paper with a green marker, giving it to me.

Well I called the number today, and while the person I called was indeed a Chrissy, it was not the person I met in my cafe. She said she hadn't been to that cafe in a very long time, that she didn't go to school nor knew anyone going to that school, and that she had never heard of me. She had no idea how someone even got her number and gave it to me.

So, once again, a girl leads me on. But I never get my hopes up about anyone anymore. It's just not worth it because I know something like this always happens. Always. Without failure. I knew that something weird would happen - it just seemed weird that a girl showed interest in me.

Is it any wonder I have a poor opinion of women in general? I mean, you can easily have one woman do that kind of thing, but I've had so, so many lead me on and pretend to like me. Just stop, please. I've had enough of the games.

Approximately how many times has this happened to you?

it was probably the same girl. How long between the meeting in the cafe and when you called her?

That has happened to me before. It was almost 10 years ago, but I will never forget it.

I have mentioned this person in several posts, but I dated a woman named Claudia in high school. She tricked me into believeing she was my girlfriend, but ended up getting me to do illegal things. She stood me up at prom, and constantly cheated on me.

For years, I judged all NT women based on Claudia's actions.

Right now, I am not looking for a relationship due to school and career-related issues.

Tim

Exactly two days. I met her on Wednesday around 4:50, and called her today just before 5. I had tried calling her on Thursday around 8 but she wasn't around.

Whoever I was talking to today, she sounded pretty convincing.

I'm not so sure:

From the way EL describes it, it sounds like he's been the instrument in a simple practical joke. The reason I say that is "Chrissy's" behavior at the table.

See, no girl on the level would chat up a guy--especially an employee--introduce herself, and give him her phone number in front of a group of her friends like that. She'd have to be mentally unstable. Singling out a guy while with friends shatters NT girl group etiquette rules. It says to the other girls, "I'm a whore." That stuff happens in teen dramas on TV, but not in real life, unless it's a very odd situation (i.e., you are Johnny Depp). Ask any NT girl. She'll tell you how WRONG that story sounds.

So ... that leads me to believe that the other girls at the table were in on it, and the girl's name wasn't Chrissy at all. Instead, they concocted a plan to bug someone they knew name Chrissy by giving you her name and number and leading you to think she was interested in a date.

Sorry to hear about the whole thing. That sucks. They probably didn't know what they were doing. But if they did, may the shame of a thousand immodest sheepherders rain down upon them.

My son works at a burger place, and while cleaning tabels a girl asked for his email address and so they swapped emails, son is aspie. She started to send emails asking him rude sexual questions, so he has blocked her emails. She was just teasing him and he was innocent into believing that she was interested in him.
So be careful out there some woman just want to be stupid.

I haven't had this specific situation happen before, but I've had too many girls trick me to even name. The number is in the double-digits. My guess? Probably 12 or 13, over the past five years. I stopped counting three years ago.

She smiled at me first, and I actually started the conversation, asking how she was doing. She was with one girl and one guy, and she said that the guy was "just a friend" and that she has no date for her upcoming prom.

The thing was, though, these people all were from the same high school, and the real Chrissy told me that she doesn't know anyone from that school.

I knew it was too good to be true from the start.

Personally, this has happened to me in the past and to prevent from being hurt too often. There are a few things I look for:

1. If the girl comes on too strongly at the beginning. (This normally means they have alterior motives. Even if there is a major super attraction (really rare!), the girl is not likely to tell you about it from fear of rejection (just like us!).

2. I need to have a inventory check with myself. (Am I look at my lack of relationship in my pasts in order to get into any kind of relationship as soon as possible? Am I basing my self-worth on if a girl approves of me?)

These are a few things that help me, you might find some benefit from them.

I hope things settle down for you. I know the hurt of knowing you are played with.

Yeah, the one NT thing you did was follow up on the smile. From then on, she what she was doing was odd behavior. Asking someone out in front of other people like that is way too straightforward for NTs.

You got punked. I hope you can get a good laugh out of it.

I'm not getting any laughs out of it. I'm getting too f*****g sick of being treated this way. The only attention I get from girls is this garbage. It makes me very, very angry and I'm getting closer and closer to doing something I might regret. Someone just treat me normal for once and then I'll shut up.

I'm going to keep blowing money on Lavalife until something good happens. So far I've only spent about $35-40 there, so far to get a few morons like the girl originally from Fredericton, and others that lost their high interest pretty quickly. I make about $300 per week, and I don't spend money on much at all - I just keep pouring it into savings. Maybe a girl that lives closer than 100 km away will actually be interested for once. Seems the only attention I get are from people elsewhere in the province or from the northern United States.

Correctly me if I'm wrong, ELLCIM, but I'm seeing a lot of anger in your last post. Anger really isn't attractive if you're looking for a date.

You ask for people to treat you normal, do you think it is a possibility they don't treat you normal is because you don't act normal?

You also mentioned that girls approach you...what has happened when you approach girls?

When it comes to getting girls, the same concept applies as for anything else. Namely, if it looks/sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Don't forget this even for a second.
