I was talking too a fellow aspie friend i know in america (i actually live in england) the other day and he said to me "Girls rejected me because of the symptoms i displayed of aspergers like lack of eye contact, monotone voice and lack of facial expressions" he also went onto say "it kinda creeped the girls out a bit"

I myself have good eye contact, have improved upon my social skills and do not talk in a monotone voice but the problem is i show a lack of facial expressions" :(

my last relationship was very brief and did not end well becasue i don't think my girlfriend was that eager on prolonging the relationship. but that is besides the point of this thread.

Will it be a problem me having a limited range of facial expresisons?

yes but unless you can't rely on your ability to pick up social cues because your brain just isn't wired that way, you'll be fine so long as you start practicing them based on social modeling. Find movies with people who model the type of expressions you'll like to master and then practice, both by yourself, and also with a friend, or a group like an improv-class. Also... please find a female friend who society would consider "normal" and practice this with her.

Personally (feel free to not answer), why do you think you don't give off expressions and can you trace specific cause for this, or were you like this right out the box? Just wondering because I am also this way, but I have my own theories to the source of it. Wish you the best.

Well some NTs also show limited facial expressions its not just exclusive to Aspergers.

to be honest though having limited facial expressions has always been a part of me and i like it :?

My friends have commented alot that i don't really show facial expressions.

I doubt it would be a total deal breaker.

I don't get it. I said it probably would not be a dealbreaker.... :?

Anyway, I can't speak for all girls anyway. I just think that there are far more important facets to a person's personality than their facial expression.
