I know absolutely nothing about dating, how it works, or where to start. I think online dating would be the best option for me, as I'm much more comfortable getting to know people online than in real life, especially since I don't drive and live in a very car-oriented city. I have a best friend I met online who understands everything I go through, is awesome to talk to, agrees with me on a lot of things, and is just the perfect person for me, but she isn't attracted to males.

However, I also want to live in a place like Western Europe or Canada after university (I expect to graduate in December 2009). I am very disgruntled with American culture, workaholic expectations, car dependence, music, racism, and especially the government. And it seems practically the only way to immigrate to the countries I'm interested in is to marry a native of the country. I never dated in high school because I grew up in a very rural redneck inbred kinda place and wasn't interested in girls then anyway. Now I'm interested in girls but don't know how to find one. It needs to be someone who is willing to put up with the left-wing extremist non-driver-by-choice that I am. I think I should try online dating first (is plentyoffish.com a good site? People say it is) as I am already very comfortable talking to people online and I met my best friend that way already (well, not on a dating site). But I just don't know what to do.

You might want to try out Aspie Affection. If you're an Aspie, you can join that. It's a dating site.

Keep in mind though that the ratios are very awkward in terms of men to women on that.

I'm not interested in American women anyway. If I got together with an American woman, I'd probably have to stay in the USA, which would be a fate worse than death as far as I'm concerned.

Im a music snob and can never find one with decent music
and I like to be able to hear what people are saying when im out
rather than rely on non verbal comunication

ah...but nightclubs are the end all, because you might end up going with some random girl and it might be the best night of your life.
