On a side note - has anyone done anything like this for a guy/girl (serenading maybe), minus the Guitar Hero controller?

Gah! When people do things like that it is just so embarrassing! I would HATE anyone to do anything like that for me. Even if he could sing well (which he clearly can't) it would still be awful if someone did that to me and I would be begging him to stop.

On a similar note, I find the recent trend for public marriage proposals using "flash mobs" or public stunts to be irritating and cringe-worthy. Everyone seems to think they are "romantic" but to me they are just incredibly tacky.

There was a news story recently about someone who proposed to his girlfriend in an aeroplane and all the other passengers were forced to endure the spectacle. If I had been there, it would seriously have got on my nerves.

If you want to do romantic stuff, fine - but it should be between you and your beloved. Why should you impose it on everybody else?

He could have gesticulated more, he was just standing there from what I saw before getting bored.
I remember there were Karaoke cabins in the U.S. where people could sing inside and then add backgrounds and stuff.

Oh, and I did sing and play the piano for someone months ago . It went well.
