Ok soboth me and my gf and I are aspies and I have anxiety disorder. Anyways we were leaving the cafeteria and all the noise in there was overloading my system and stressing me out horribly. Anyways assloads of people start swarming around everywhere and I flip out and scream like Howard Dean. She hugged me and got me through it but I was soooo embarassed about it.

Honestly, I'm jealous. The last time I had a meltdown like that in front of other aspies (I was your age, actually) I was pointed at and laughed at. You're really lucky to have such a supportive girlfriend. *Everybody* just used to call me a weirdo and a psycho. I hate people.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it. It took me until my 20s to grow out of it i.e. disown my emotions and pretend they're not there.

Be happy that you are able to get it out!! I was abused badly by my sister when I was young, so to this day I internalize my emotions. I WISH I could scream and let it out. Screw those people and what they think anyway.

You're lucky you have such a sweet girl.

Appreciate this, because not many people have someone like this.

Without wanting to sound bitter: Hold on to her! Hold on to her for the rest of your life. This is the most sensitive and nicest thing ever, and shows that she knows how it feels to be overwhelmed as an Aspie. She treated you with respect, care and love. This girl seems to be your true soulmate, so if you can, never let her go.

Thank you. :) I'm a girl, not a dude, btw. For some reason, it's hilarious to see a girl get angry or very upset that way. Apart from lashing out, it feels like I'm not allowed to tell anyone how I feel. That's why I delete so many of my posts.

Yes, it's horrible to hear people talk like that behind your back. Because my hearing is quite sensitive, I sometimes hear what others say in another room.

Wow. It makes me happy to know that there is someone that supportive out there. This is a time to be happy, not embarrassed; it sounds like she really cares.

I think you might be lucky if someone can console you from a meltdown. I don't remember ever having that, and my meltdowns were often scary for others, not necessarily funny. If I could, I probably would have killed someone during my meltdowns back while I was in school.
