I can't win the battle. I can't. I'm stuck in between a rock and a hard place.

There's a woman that I am cool with, we both have feelings for each other, but it's damn near impossible to see her. I'm out here at college with no car and she's on the other side of the city (which is about an hour away). She only has sundays off and I can't plan anything without having a guaranteed ride back and forth (which is damn near impossible, most of the people that have cars here aren't big on driving far distances back and forth on a night where school is the next day). She isn't willing to drive here, apparently because she has to share the only car they have there with her mother, which is BS.

I can leave myself open, but I can't hit the effing switch in my goddamn brain to be open and talk to new women without being "the typical friend" in the end.

I can't even find a woman to just sleep with me one night (not for sex, but just so I'm not freaking out every night over the thoughts of being alone forever).

That four letter word, "can't." It drives me crazy. There's no mediums to take out that stress, no fancy clubs I can join without being a total sausagefest (the music department here is pretty sad, small handful of women, and even the clubs that interest me only have not even one).

I can't win this fight, no matter how hard I try.

I used to live in Rochester, so you have my sympathy. If you don't mind saying, which school are you at? U of R, RIT, out in Brockport? Is there any way the two of you can meet up about halfway, in the city? The South Wedge has some nice date spots, as do Monroe, Park, University, et cetera. Also, does your school have any kind of bus service that can get you part of the way there?

I'm at FLCC down in Canandaigua, which is like a 45-60 minute drive from where she is.

In order for me to even get back in Rochester by bus, it would take me almost 3 hours to go through 2 different transit systems, but Rochester doesn't run the bus I need to get back into the city on Sundays.

Im sorry but considering all technologic advances that would let you two to keep up with each other and meet once a week/a couple of times a month I think that you are being overly dramatic if you think that a relationship like that wont ever work.

My sister has spent several months taking 3hour long train rides(more expensive than bus rides) to meet her partner once a month.
The reason they broke up isnt the distance per say(he got overly concerned about what she did, she had to reply to his texts within hours(said texts could come when she was sleeping...))

You have to take a 3 hour long bus ride? I wont be able to meet my partner until August for several reasons I wont get into.
How do I live with that? we keep in touch in every way possible at least a couple of times a day and I wouldnt trade those short conversations for anything in the world.

You need to meet women? find a club that has them and say that you are interested in seeing how things go over there.
Believe it or not I did that at youth group and they are more than cool knowing Im not religious at all and I'll leave at any time they show signs of trying to convert me(its been going on for months), as a matter of fact the leader knows this and she is cool with it(last time I talked to her she gave me her number and told me that she was showing the city around to two young women and I was more than welcome to join them because she has been told I can be trusted by several members).
If a 60 year old religious lady has no problem with this approach I doubt most clubs will have a problem with it
