Just wondering if it is possible to be in a relationship if you are asexual? Having not much interest in relationships I do find men that I meet attractive but wouldn't want to have a sexual relationship if the opportunity arose. I am just not wired that way like other women. Are there other people here who are in relationships with little to no sex?

:-) I'm in the same boat except I have a physical disability. My doctor said do you have a boyfriend, I said no then he said tell your boyfriend when you get one because if you had sex it'd kill you.

Why not?

I'm very romantically/relationship-driven.

asexuality and aromanticism are two different things, and do not need the other to exist.
so yes, you can be asexual and still want a relationship (for the cuddling/closeness, for example), or on the other side, dont want a relationship, but still crave sex.

Yes,Asexuals can have loving relationships, but for most, sex is a big part of being in a relationship, meaning that finding a partner could be quite difficult.

Yeah. I have no idea what we did before the internet, and dating sites for people looking for very specific, rare things. Asexuals generally don't even have a name for themselves until they find Asexuality.org or someone who has.

Well just because you can't have cis het penetrative intercourse doesn't mean you couldn't do other things.Theres like a million different things you could do that don't involve that, most of which are more fun and more interesting anyway.

But obviously if you're simply not interested in sexual contact at all that's okay too.

Yeah I also agree with the above poster that there are tons of ways to please sexually and to be romantic. Also, sometimes sex isn't always just for personal pleasure, sometimes it's a way to show your love. Sometimes I'm not in the mood, but I want him happy and let him have his sex while my love for him is expressed. And sometimes it';s the other way around, I'm into it, but he's into something else and he does the same.

I;m curious what disabilities prevent sex? I never knew.

My only guess would be something pertaining to the circulatory system possibly heart related.

Sure they can. Though usually some sacrifices have to be made for the sexual partner.

No Vagina. Nothing to penetrate it's closed up up there. With the force of sex on tv shows I could see one forceful penetration and I'd be dead and something would rip AWFUL to imagine. :-) Also oral mouth stuff or naughty book stuff is just weird!! !! Although I like the idea of kissing and cuddling. :-)

then you wouldn't be asexual you would be straight.
asexuals don't date anyone. Because they don't find anyone attractive.

Of course asexuals can have relationships; but the asexuality is something that needs to be addressed up front. A relationship between someone with a normal sex drive and an asexual is not going to work.
