How do I get over somebody?

I've been thinking about someone I used to date everyday for months. I'm miss her so much, and it hurts so bad. She haunts my dreams now too. I can't get her out of my head. I think about her every day. I can't over the fact that if I wasn't so stupid that maybe we would've been together. ![]()

LOL that works!
Time, or new relationships, or time.
What you're feeling is normal, including the bit about "stupid," though you're wrong there. Nobody knows why it didn't work out. Not you, not her regardless of what reasons she may give, you just don't know.
Partly because everyone's different. You're different from all the "advisers" that may have told you what you did "wrong" and she's different from all the "advisers" that are trying to describe what she thought/wanted.
They may be right, but they may be wrong. Bet on wrong.
Endure, try to act normal, find another practice relationship soon. That's all I got. Sorry this is happening for you right now.

Wouldn't a practice relationship just cause more hurt feelings?

Then don't make it a practice? Find another relationship that you can focus on. It doesn't have to be practice. I know the idea of getting hurt again is scary, but it's like that old adage (to sound totally cowboy for a moment): you have to get back on the horse that threw you. Woulda, coulda, shoulda doesn't really get you anywhere but time will. 1401b gave you some great advice. I hope things get easier for you in the future, and you can move past this. <3 Good luck!
I'm struggling with the EX_ACT same problem. Join the club! But in my case I did all that I could to preserve it but she had too much baggage from the past and needed financial support that I couldn't possibly offer. Now she's 250 miles away with a new baby that isn't my own but has no father in his life.

A practice relationship is not the answer. And Butterfiend, be careful about jumping into a new relationship too soon!! ! You don't want to dump this baggage onto a new partner. I advise you to not focus on relationships at all right now and just take it easy.

I don't know how to get a relationship anyway. This short lived dating with the girl of my dreams was just a fluke. I probably won't get that lucky again.
