Take a look. It's written in a style that's very easy for Aspies to understand, and might be a useful read.

Wow. I'm even finding this helpful. It's told me a couple of things that explain a lot of the problems that I have. I think I'm going to save this sucker.

I'm thinking that out of everything here, this most deserves to be stickied.

That was pretty good. I'm not sure I can implement everything in that but that was one of the better guides like that I have seen.

Uhm.

right.

thats interesting.

but...since I'm the date doctor and I'm not about to be usurped by a nicely worded document, I'll say this, it looks good, but other then that. you have to rely on your own experiences, and the advice of others.

Okay.

looking through the guide thingy, it has some good points and whatnot. But why do you want a guide? Ask your parents and elders and whatnot.

A guide is a guide, but in the dating field you want person to person contact and advice. trust me on this.

I learned all I learned, from my dad, my mom, my cousins, signifcant others and other family members.

But the thing to always remember. is be yourself.

Your parents are obviously different than mine. I don't have any cousins that live within 200 miles of me. I've never had a significant other. Some of us might need this.

Because this is a carefully written and incisive description of HOW people actually flirt. It's worth a hell of a lot more to most of us, as we are almost FUNDEMENTALLY INCAPABLE of doing some of this naturally. I, for one, had no idea that eye contact is terrifying to everyone. My two modes have been to look away, or if I have the guts, just lock in on someone. Well, the fear reaction that this sets off in others only manages to convince me that I CAN'T look them in the eye. I suspect that there are quite a few more very useful points here - much more useful than any trite advice that any of US can give.

This is terrific stuff.

I've had a few 'flirtatious' conversations in the past few months, and it has given me some new observations I should have been looking out for, or ways I could have modified my behavior to make things easier.

I think some in this thread are reading this article too rigidly. Everyone has their own style of conversing and flirting. It's meant to help improve your technique - not replace it.
