I have encountered a LOT of those on dating sites, they usually share their social media after few exchange of messages, they add you on FB (or twitter or Instagram but I don't have those) - their pictures are usually obviously enhanced, or very pro or from a specific angle. The FB they share is obviously not their main one - you don't see their relatives, their female friends...nothing, all of the Friends are guys of her age range who are swarming her pictures with flirty comments.

This film shows what is really happening, and it's sad:

Nice video, choked me up a little not gonna lie.

But yeah I have a reflex to distrust such perfect people and don't follow them.
Even if they really are good-looking it doesn't matter because they do not care about me, they just want as many people as possible to admire them.
I think it's a bad idea in general to overly enhance yourself on these platforms if you are seriously looking for someone to meet in real life, because they will be "surprised".

Those girls (and certainly there are equivalent guys, but I don't seek guys) never intend to meet any of their online male "followers/fans" - they are just seeking for approval from the opposite sex that they lack in real life for whatever reason (it may not because of her looks, but of her life conditions too...etc).

It's kind of an imaginary world of their creation that they get addicted to it where they feel accepted (by the opposite sex).

IRL I have an illusion that some people admire me (not because of my looking but because of my talents). And I have an illusion that they are eager to invade my place. So I avoid socializing with them. The problem is the fact that I like damn h-u-m-a-n-s..So I'm here interacting with people in my best comfortable way..

@Boo Yeah I hear you. I never fully trust that people actually look a certain way. There are so many photo galleries on the Internet (like on facebook)... I could just take a friend's picture and post it here. Hmm...

I am "damn human." I'm definitely not an Internet God.

I'm 5 foot 4.75, and weigh 192 pounds.

I'm missing one front tooth right now, which I'm going to replace in a week or so.

So I was worshiping you in vain?

I have to remove the big photo of yours that I hanged over my bed.

I would rather date a girl in real life and ask her not to wear any make-up(which is a portable enhancer). Best not to take any chances.
I read about a case in which a couple divorced soon after marriage because the man saw his wife without make-up for the first time the morning after the wedding. He initially confused her for a burglar.
