"You would look so cute together!"
The first time this happened was when I was in middle school. They tried to match me up with a chubby Asian guy. I didn't say anything because I didn't want people to think I was gay or immature. I eventually heard those same girls say he was gross behind his back. They were either joking about matching us up or indirectly calling me a loser.
Another event like this happened to me on Reddit. I was asking people to critique my okcupid profile. One person said I would look super cute with a specific user. I clicked on it and I didn't find her attractive. Her appearance was unkempt, she had a pretty empty profile and she had a Dr Who themed username. I only know that because I google searched her username. I have no interest in Dr Who.
Maybe she was joking as well. Based on our profiles we pretty much have nothing in common. I'm a bit of a nerd, but I don't think I show it much on my profile.
My mom has been the best matchmaker so far. All the guys she suggested seem cool and attractive. I'm not even sure if I'm into guys to begin with, so I'm not going to date guys until I've been with some girls.

Bi girls often eventually go for guys because they are easier to deal with (But they might keep dating girls for extra fun but not for serious relationship); that what most of the bi girls I've talked with told me - they so often find women very hard to deal with; and I find their input the most credible when it comes to dating guys vs dating girls. Of course most straight girls will deny that, but they have no real experience with both sides - so sorry, I am gonna believe more the bi girls' input instead!
If you turn out to be bi, and you want a less complicated dating life for you, then date guys.

I didn't ask what gender to date. I'm just talking about bad matchmakers.

I think I can count the times someone did that with me with the fingers in half a hand, and the last time was before my fourteenth birthday.

Haha yeah I know what this is like. They point to the fat chick over there and are like, you should ask her out or you two would make a good couple together. That makes me feel like i'm ugly.
I know i'm not the greatest looking guy but I don't think i'm THAT ugly. Who knows, I could be wrong. My autistic traits probably make me less desirable to the opposite sex.
I'm not going to focus my attention on getting a gf because dating if you're a 20 year old male sucks since you're competing with 20-30 year olds for women aged 20-22.
If you want a hot girlfriend, then you either have to be super rich or super good looking. That's why if you're young like me, you need to be focusing on how you can get a good job and make good money. Then the women will come.
If you reach your 30s and you're working class or whatever and not the greatest looking guy, then you will have to settle with a woman who's less then ideal. If that's something you're okay with, then go on right ahead. But if you want the hot chicks, focus on your career/school and bring in the good money.
I've agreed to every blind date friends wanted to set me up with, with two different guys. I went out with the first once and the second maybe 6-7 times.
If you're single, what do you have to lose? Make the first date a quick after work drink or coffee, so if you've nothing in common you've wasted only 20 min and $7 (and if it's really horrible, you'll be dining out on the story for years!).

I'm actually a girl. I am focused on school right now. I'm going through an adult grad program. It's nice because I don't have to deal with patronizing teachers who kill my motivation.
It did make me feel pretty ugly when they tried to match me up with that ugly Asian guy. Especially when they called him gross.
I have been able to talk to girls who aren't unattractive to me on dating sites. Haven't successfully gotten a date yet, but it's worth a try.
