Long distance relationships

Do you think long distance relationships are good idea or bad idea?

I am referring to long distance relationships where both individuals intend to meet in person at some time, although I am not considering how far away that time is.

Hmm...your question seems to say that to
answer a good idea means that it's good whether
or not it CAN work out. Can't see that anyone could
select that option.

I would say they can be very challenging, having been in several with males from the USA. Usually, things seem to conspire to make it ever more difficult to meet and as time goes by, you sort of start to lose hope. It can be very hard without that physical presence and physical contact.

What's up with people making polls where the only options are answers they want to hear? Make it unbiased and you'll get some real answers.

I feel that if I want to be with another Aspie, a long-distance relationship might be necessary because we're spread out all across the globe.

My definition of long-distance is anything more than 200 miles.

Wow. I had one fall apart due to right about that distance.
But, we were lazy, and wouldn't see one another except for
every few months.

For me, if they're out of walking distance, it's too far.

Distance has worked for me, but it's probably my nature.

It's a waste of time and I would never bother with it. If the person really does seem so incredibly special then meet up in reality, face to face within a couple of months or forget it. I can't imagine doing something more frustratingly pointless than attempting to have a long distance relationship with merely the "hope" of one day meeting.

I'd already met the person, then we were separated. It worked for me for a time.

I’d walk water to be with someone whom I loved…liquid words easily turn to solid when the temperature is right.

If my situation and all was different, if it was someone that I felt comfortable with and all, yeah I'd consider it.
