I have a coworker whose mild flirting is starting to unsettle me, I think he has been lonely for a number of years, and has become overly friendly because I have been just nice to him (he isn't creepy or anything).
I don't want to make things uncomfortable, but I would like him to tone it down before he makes it awkward to work with him, any suggestions for what I could do about this?

I don't know, mention a boyfriend even if you don't have one, but then you'd have to keep up a charade for as long as he's a co-worker. Perhaps start describing attractive attributes in males he doesn't have. I'm not female so I don't know how, only what the movies show me-- and that was the extent of that knowledge since I don't normally watch rom-coms, lol.

I think the fictional boyfriend idea is not a bad one.

Saves lots of potential hassle.

Tell him that you have a penis.

Great idea, I think that would end it all quite efficiently, but it might make things a little bit more awkward in the staff room, maybe.
Out of the two suggestions I might pick the fictional boyfriend. I think mentioning dinner/date at the weekend with a chap would only have to be said once.
