what are we
i have had a crush on this guy i work with for a long time. recently he started showing interest in hanging out with me and we have been mutually inviting each other to do things. we are both really awkward and shy and i would assume he is on the spectrum as well. we have both been really cautious about making advances for awhile and nothing had really happened but last time we hung out i invited him to a movie and then we went to my house and listened to records for awhile and we ended up like making out and cuddling for a long time. it was really nice and so different from other guys i have been with who seem to take advantage of me. but when he left to go home it was really awkward and uncomfortable. i always get really nervous about goodbyes and rush everything and make it feel awkward like i can’t wait for them to leave or something, but really im just nervous. we kissed goodbye but it just felt awkward and sort of forced and then he left without saying anything. we didn’t really talk about anything that had happened. then i worked with him the next day and we talked a little like we always do, but basically acted like nothing had happened. i keep thinking about texting him, but i feel like he should do something since i invited him last time and we have sort of been taking turns. i dont want to seem desperate or neurotic or like im making too big of a deal about it. it’s been a week now and i haven’t seen or heard from him. we only work together once a week. i told a couple friends about and they told me i should just be “chill” and patient and everything will be ok. but i’m having a hard time with that. romantic things never usually happen to me except in my head and idk what i’m supposed to do. i also don’t think he has very much experience either or knows what to do. i don’t want to ruin it by doing the wrong thing or seeming too obsessive (even though i totally am). any advice would be appreciated. thank you.
"What are we?"
You are two people who hung out together, did a little make out session, and then parted ways.
You don't necessarily have to put a label on it. Ask him if he wants to get together again soon, and that you had a good time. Then see what his response is.
I mean, someone's got to make a move. Nothing wrong with it being you if you like him.
