Most women would rather have Charlie? Somehow I like Alan. That goes to show that women are all different.

Good lord no, Charlie was awful. I mean, that was the joke (to me anyway) was that they were both awful - just on opposite ends of the spectrum. But if I had to choose, yeah, no Charlie.

I think many women would like Alan for many reasons.

Sometimes, he can be sort of passive-aggressive---but, all in all, I find that he'd be a good catch.

Charlie's just a swinger-type guy, and makes no bones about it, and is honest about it.

I love Jake. He's hilarious. Jake's interactions with Alan and Charlie are priceless. My brother has a friend that has a Jake personality.

Yep. Jake is pretty adaptable.

He's smart enough not to get in the middle of their crap.

He's his own person.

Alan is a beta male women despise, but settle down with. Charlie is an alpha male women want to have sex with.

I'd hang with Rose. The only reason she stalks Charlie is because they had sex. As a platonic friend, she'd be awesome. Unlike most women on the show, she treats Alan with genuine respect, and she's good with Jake too.

Alan got a pretty damn good job.

Charlie is just some guy who got lucky and got a nice house for nothing.

I really hate that show. I don’t think it’s particularly enlightened as far as women are concerned.

That's because these shows, along with so much other entertainment that comes out of Hollywood, is written by men. It's no wonder there are absolutely horrible representations of women in just about every movie and TV show, although admittedly it's better than it used to be.

That’s true. Certain shows, like this one, I can’t even watch because I get so frustrated.

I don’t like a lot of older shows either like I Love Lucy for this reason. In almost every episode, she does something particularly idiotic which her sensible husband has to resolve in some way.
