been pining after my crush for two years and today she just told me that she started dating someone three days ago. funny thing is that person has the same name as me. oof. anyways, i guess i'm not as crushed as i could be because i'm way past the hopeless stage of things. maybe it's finally time to put myself back on the market, lol.

If you have feelings, please try to express them. Life is short, and sometimes you just need to take a chance/risk before it is too late.

You seem like a pretty interesting and sweet person, so in the end, maybe she does feel the same and is now moving on herself. Who knows.

You'll never know, if you don't ask. If you ask them out within a reasonable time period (not 2 years), and they reject you, it might not be pleasant, but it will keep you from wasting anymore of your time, and will also limit the emotional "damage".

Painful, but I think if you're really interested in someone then you don't have to give up on them. Dating doesn't mean immediate permanent relationship, it just means dating. People casually date all the time.

However, I don't think you should be fixated. That's the problem here. When you're this attached to someone, it can be detrimental to yourself and sometimes to them. Focus on other people, but don't cross out your current crush right away. There's still hope there.
