Hi All

I am in a relationship with a guy with Asperger's, he used to call me every morning on route to work and on route home from work. It used to be the same time neatly too. I have noticed the calls getting later and later, he seems to be giving excuses for being late etc. Now when we got together he was cheating on his partner with me. Could his change of routine and excuses mean this is happening again? Or is this normal behaviour when the man knows you love him etc? My first relationship with someone on the spectrum. He also said he's never cheated before and it's not in his moral compass and said he doesn't even know why he did it as his so against it etc. It's 19 months into our relationship now maybe his comfortable or maybe his cheating on me. Can anyone shed light onto this for me. He said he has lots going on at the moment etc. I want to give him his space etc and not Croydon the situation. I however have been cheated on in the past and a change of routine in an NT/NT relationship usually spells a cheater. I could be projecting old wounds from my past onto my present relationship here so hands up on that one. Any advise would be great thank you.

This is totally normal behaviour for NTs too. The novelty wore off, he got you, no need to put more effort in it.

I generally wouldn't partner with somebody who is in a relationship. That seems far too risky for me, and there's no guarantee of legitimacy in the bond.

I was gonna say something like this. But I'll also add that it may be better if the OP ends things if she's going to automatically assume an Aspie's change in routine is due to cheating.
