If you in a long distance relationship & your phone doesn’t work good, & you cannot talk alot. If you don’t have money to buy a new phone, wouldn’t you go to the library or get a second job to earn money to buy a phone?

It’s not so easy to just “get a second job.”

What sort of phone plan does this person have?

Maybe he can change plans.

Or he can buy a phone card.

This guy doesn't live in the US; she lives in the US.

I'm thinking maybe the guy doesn't have an "international" plan on his phone.

If he's in the UK, he can purchase a phone card for about 10 Pounds, and call to his heart's content.

Letter writing may work if all else fails.

Kitty, if he is interested in you, then maybe he could subsidize your phone and phone bill so that you could keep in contact with him. If he can, and doesn't want to do that, then maybe you should re-think your 'relationship'.

He has to get a new phone, then.

He probably can trade in the phone he has now, and thereby lessen the cost of the new phone.

Sometimes, he can get a new phone free from his plan.

Does he say that he’ll be able to get a new phone eventually?

Does he have Internet, or only a phone? If he still has Internet on a computer or tablet, he could use something like Skype to either text or do voice calls, like a phone.

Kitty, you have said previously that he is an Engineer, an international business traveller who frequents Asia from Europe. I find it extremely unlikely that he doesn't have access to a phone.
