Is it true that it is common for those who find they are on the spectrum who did not know it, to have married people on the spectrum (If they knew it or not?)

I mean... Well. I have found it difficult to find a girlfriend so I am single. But the few girlfriends from the past either knew they were on the spectrum, or the other one was a possible though she did not know it. Now this is likely because I can connect to people who are on the spectrum in a mental way where those who are not seem somehow to be nice enough but somehow they find me odd, or I will find them too critical so I will not be interested in them (Somehow they can hurt me emotionally by criticizing a hidden stimm as they may not understand it, and I will be very concious about it, especially before I knew they were called stimms).

Someone on this site said that it is very common for those who are on the spectrum to be dating those who are also on the spectrum even if they may not know it.

This is a really common thing yes.

My husband has autistic characteristics but doesn't identify as autistic for example.

There is some mental connection there between autistic people where we connect much easier somehow because of the similarities.

Some of the best friends I've had have been mostly autistic and we still talk decades later.

I only have one or two friends and I think half of them are. Uhmmm. I can think of two friends I have so that is exactly 50%.

There are many people with high-functioning autism and Asperger’s who are married.

My partner definitely has traits and he's diagnosed with ADD, so not exactly "neurotypical" anyway.

Most of my friends or people I've connected with are introverts or have quirky personalities, but I only know very few people who were actually diagnosed.
