I’m 50, I’m not attractive to men my age, they seem too mature for me & I’m mentally very young for my age, I HATE Aspergers! It’s feel like other people are getting older & I’m the same age mentally, I wish I can grow up too. I can have a mind like a child, my Aspergers can make me feel sooo stupid! There this guy that I met on Instagram, he is my age, I think he looking for a relationship, I’m not attractive to him, he said he’s a doctor.

One way to know whether people are attracted to you or not is post a recent photo of yourself. There is risk to that, of course, depending on what kind of job you have, and what the context is. Ask a friend what they think before you do it.

One thing you can do is adopt a pet. Animals are far less particular and far more loving than human beings are. Just sayin'. My kitten has yet to steal money from me.

Hey Kitty - the Doctor is but one man ... Doctors don't generally have a good track record when it comes to relationships generally due to the hours they work etc. Hope you find someone who appreciates you and who enhances your life and vice versa. X

It’s not working out with him. I like two other men on Badoo dating app.

I don’t know why men are attractive to me on Instagram, maybe it’s because I’m following Coffee Meets Bagel on Instagram.

I'm kinda surprised by this. It's not uncommon for guys to like women who are a bit younger than them with maturity & looks(you mentioned before that you look young for your age). In general older guys tend to date women a lot younger than them more often than younger guys who date women a bit older than them. I'd bet that there is more going on than all guys around your age being unattracted to you simply for your immaturity & looks.

I know you have various physical issues & disabilities. I have a bit of various physical disabilities & issues & I've known a lot of people on & offline who also have various physical disabilities & issues. Being disabled physically can MAJORLY hinder getting dates & relationships sometimes, especially if you are not gainfully employed or rich. Even if you have income like from disability, SSI &/or other benefits, people in conservative areas tend to think of you as a lazy leech sucking on the teats of the hard-working American taxpayer. In more liberal areas, people are more sympathetic but they have concerns about entering a relationship with someone disabled. They worry that the disabled would not be able to pull their weight. The disabled might be dependent on their partner financially. The government benefits can get slashed or the gov can make it harder to access them. If you get married when your on SSI, your partner's income will affect your SSI amount. With SSI, the more income your partner has or resources they have, the more your SSI gets reduced till you get nothing. Health care can cost aLOT sometimes & if you get married, your partners income & resources can affect your Medicaid eligibility & you could potentially lose it. Times are tough rite now for LOTS of people. The US economy is in the toilet & things have been bad for a long time but have gotten a lot worse due to the pandemic. People also have concerns that the disabled will not be able to take care of the housework. Having to go to work long hours at jobs you hate & then coming home & having to do all the housework in order to take care of yourself & your partner while your partner doesn't help out, can can fester resentment towards em very quickly.

That said, LOTs of disableds do try to pull their weight in relationships as best they can. They hate having to be financially dependent on their partners. They want their own income weather it's from a job or gov benefits & they try to take care of the house stuff as best they can. They can have LOTS of potential within a loving supportive relationship but they do tend to face some serious negative stigma sometimes. I think the negative stigma in some areas could be worse for disabled guys than disabled women due to the stereotypical traditional gender roles & current gender equality or rather lack thereof. I think you might be in California & Cali overall is a lot more liberal than where I'm originally from which is Louisiana so that's good.

One important thing to keep in mind is that bad people like to prey on the disabled & immature & naive because they see us as easy targets.

Disableds sometimes have much better success with dating & relationships if they think outside the box some. Instead of just focusing on their problems & issues & trying to minimize em, it could help if they focus on their strengths & capabilities as well. Different people can find different things attractive & can have very different wants & needs within a relationship. Sometimes disabled people have better success having relationships with other disableds. Sometimes disabled people are better able to sympathize, empathize, & relate to other disableds even if they have very different conditions.

My kitten has become physically abusive. He tries to tackle me when I'm walking about the house. His 5 pounds of fur and bone is not quite enough to do the job though.

I think the main reason cats are safer than humans is they are small enough not to seriously hurt us and don't care about money.

The sad state of the economy makes me leery of even trying dating sites. I figure the #1 reason any woman would be interested in having anything to do with me would be due to financial need. Even here, OP says she was after who? A doctor. I bet half the doctors on the dating sites say they are doctors just to perk the interest of the women.

I am here looking for a friend and partner, they would be there looking for someone to pay the bills. That does not seem appealing to me, already been in that role, leads nowhere except lots of money gone.

I have actually overheard women at work talking about dating in general and "I need a man that will pay the bills, pay the rent every month!"

Also on these dating sites, most of the women around middle age are saddled with another man's children and are just looking for someone to help with all the costs and labor. Basically someone to use. Then the rest have profiles that talk about how much they love travel ($$) especially to Europe ($$$$) or wine-drinking. Or how they are super-active with all kinds of recreational activities, which implies they do not ever intend to work for a living and want a man to support them.

Actually it's not clear from the OP's wording whether she was (briefly) "after" him or he was (briefly) "after" her.

Do their profiles actually say that they are "super-active" with all these recreational activities, or are they just listing activities that they enjoy (whenever they have a chance) and would very much enjoy on a date?

I wonder if you might be jumping to conclusions here. If you are looking for companionship via a dating site, it seems to me that your best bet would be those women who list recreational activities that you too enjoy (and that aren't hugely expensive).

You surprised about what? I thought you knew I’m in California. What do you mean’ Cali overall is a lot more liberal?’ You are lucky that you moved before the coronavirus. Are you ever going PM me?

NOT ALL women are the same. I’m NOT after the doctor, I’m not talking to him anymore. I don’t need a man to pay my bills & rent, I have my own money. Why people think they know what they talking about? I hate that. That always happen to me.

The travel thing is a known cliché on dating apps btw.

And apparently a lot of men do it too:

Probably, but I already made the jump. I deleted my profiles on OKCupid and Bumble. I also noticed while I was on there that women never messaged, even on Bumble, where they are supposed to according to the way the site is set up. I have read articles that analyze dating sites, and they are heavily tilted against men. It is left up to the man to spend all day liking profiles until someone responds. I did like about 30, but after a while I was like, this is too much like work. It gets to be time-consuming with no return on investment. I think that online dating may work for some, if they spend several hours a week on it. It isn't fun at all.

You probably just need killer profile pictures, since truly, that is all online dating is about. Swipe left, swipe right. A lot of women do not even bother filling in the profile questions. I guess if I paid $100 for a professional photographer, I could score. But why bother?

I had some women like me, but I got the feeling they were liking a bunch of men out of desperation, because they had nothing in common. I doubt they even bothered reading my profile. They just looking for someone single and employed.

Also- real life is more fun. I just have to wait until corona blows over. Either everybody is going to get it or a vaccine will come out. This social distancing nonsense can't go on forever.
