OOOOhhh wooowwwwwwwwww, now I AM NOT a great bookworm so a book that grabs me and that gets read cover to cover just doesn't exist. My attention span is dreadfully short and I don't read for meaing well at all. SOOOOoooooooooo when I could not put down

LOVING MR SPOCK by BARBARA JACOBS

I thought I should tell you. AMAZING book, changed my life. I wish all neurotypicals were like Barbara. The book is about her relationship with a guy with Aspergers Syndrome. I was fascinated because ...................ooohhhh she was telling ME MY story tooo!! ! I think YOU will all be able to identify with this masterpiece. Where does it all go soooo wrong? This is where you will find out!

Do I sound cheesy? Yea maybe but I can honestly say that this book changed my life. If any of you can access it then do so PLEEEEZZZE, there is loads of great information in it as well and reference pages including other experiences. It is a dip in dip out book that is written in a way that aspies and adders can understand.

IT IS SOOOOOO FUNNY! Prepare yourselves with some tissues and be near the loo in case you PYSL! This book has everything, advice, information, honesty, warmth, comedy, drama, sorrow and you want to reach the end to see what happens BUT YOU dont want the book to end because it is soooo good.

I actually keep a copy on me now as so many folk want to hear about it. LOVE THIS BOOOK. If any of you do get a chance please post your thoughts, hope you enjoy and learn from it as much as I did. :D

A book about a "normal" person dating someone with asperegers. :?

Just reading this topic makes me feel more depressed :( . I guess I'll check it out. I am a bookworm, but have a short attention span for books that aren't good.

Was your vulgarian query directed at one of us, or both? :)

Mmmm yes velodog, I would like clarification of that too! :?

Did you enjoy your function velodog? Was it a posh do with tails? Functions here in the UK can involve tails, evening wear the whole lot. Hope it was good and you enjoyed it!

None of that actually, it was a setup, brunch, meet , greet & retreat at my local Union Hall with local Politico's, Chamber of commerce, our Officers and a few grunt volunteers like myself. Sometimes we get tangible benefits down the road, sometimes not. Still, even though schmoozing is not my strong point I see the value of it. A little small talk doesn't kill me or make me stronger. :D

Oooh velodog, I am not good at smooozing either, ummmm well actually I am VERY good at it, but I don't like doing it!! I hate having to go out full stop to be honest. I live in a run down cottage named Jellybean Cottage and I work into the night on my own! I am a very sociable person on the outside, comedienne extraordinaire BUT it tires me out so I choose to keep myself to myself................apart from when I am lecturing or advising mums who have little hair left on their heads!! I work voluntarily so anything can happen from one minute to the next!! !
