OK so first the obligatory introduction. Im a new member of WP, but have been "lurking" for a while (dum dum dum).

Anyway my question is how do you handle/respond to flirty behaviour? Anything in particular that makes you go all fuzzy inside? What kind of behaviours are NOT exceptable for you??

Hmm...... I don't get people flirting with me very often, but when I have, it does give me a fuzzy feeling. If I were super attractive and got flirted with a lot, maybe it'd get annoying, but alas I'm not. :( How do I respond to flirty behavior? I usually just get giddy if someone flirts with me, and sometimes I'll *attempt* to flirt back. Though, I usually feel stupid trying to flirt. I don't know what would be not acceptable. I guess I wouldn't like it if someone said something really gross or obscene or tried to touch something that I didn't want touched. o_0

Wish i had a clue, i think i somtimes just dont
pick up the signals at all, utterly clueless for
some reason. Maybe girls have flirted with me,
not sure - my ex flirted, i picked up on that
but besides that i dont know - so i probably
suck really hard when it comes to flirting, no
good at doing it myself or picking up on others
doing it.

I probably would not realise it at all when someone is flirting with me, I dont easily pick up signals like that. If it would happen, I would dislike it. I am a rather introvert and serious person unless I know someone well. So when someone approaches me she better uses regular conversation rather than flirty behaviour, if she is flirty I would probably assume she is just after some fun and not after a serious friendship or relationship. Maybe a wrong assumption, but that is because I dont like flirting in general and thus will easier open up to a woman if she approaches me in a more serious way, starting a normal conversation.

I can't pick up on no verbal signals such as flirting. Nope.

As such, I wouldn't have a clue.

I play it cool, and I flirt back. I usually make an ass of myself, and then admit that I've made an ass of myself.

I think the main problem is that the friend who im interested in has AS to, so it will kind of be like the blind leading the blind!
To be honest im trying to find a way to communicate the fact that I want to be more than friends with this person without having to (gulp) say it! At the same time I dont want to go out of my way to freak them out

I wouldn't say "blind leading the blind". In keeping with the whole "Wrong Planet" thing, I would call it the "Martian leading the Martian". Things that seem natural to you may appear more natural to the one you're interested in than in any NT you might meet...

List of the only people who have manifested any romantic interest in me (i.e. the only ones I've noticed, because they explicitly told me):

1) A guy who was on psychiatric treatment over depression and voices in his head. I wouldn't object to attempting it with a man, but I just felt this time it couldn't work.

2) A girl at work whose voice reminded me of The Nanny. And the lascivious way she looked at me made me want to be a Catholic again.

3) (This one was speculative) A friend of mine who is constantly arguing with her boyfriend over the silliest issues and who can't make up her mind over dumping him. She has tons of unresolved issues with insecurity and self-esteem.

I wonder... if these are the kinds of persons who fall for me, that doesn't say much about what image I'm showing to the public, does it?

The girls usually don't tell the guys that they're interested outright though...
