Ok, I have this cousin and I am REALLY attracted to her, I mean attracted is probably not even the word for it, I think I may actually love her, and on the plus side she and I arnt related by blood, and I think she likes me like I like her too. But I could just be reading her nonverbal wrong. So Im rely stuck here. Am I a sick person? Please be honest.

Nothing wrong with that...

These kinds of relationships are never easy when it involves family matters lol.

I don't know if you're reading too much into it or not. It seems most aspies including myself have trouble getting the hints and subtle cues.

If she is, I wouldn't flat out ask her but start out slowly with your hints that you like her. Try taking her out somewhere without really making it look like a date and see what happens from there on.

There's no real easy answere for situations like these, even I am clueless when it comes to what the appropriate way to initiate is. You might get rejeceted so be prepared...it happens to us all. Then again, you might not if you ask her.

Good luck.

^Go for it. :)

I had a similar crush when I was younger. I was "chicken" and never did anything about though. To this day, I wonder what would've happened if I would've told her. :chin: That's one of my regrets of my younger years.....

Relationship-wise, I agree that there's nothing icky about it. And yes, you'll never know unless you try.

I would only be concerned if she doesn't feel the same for you and you get rejected. That would make for some very awkward family get-togethers later on.

I beleve you man, but latly she has been taking me places and usualy she will prefer to be alone with me just to talk, so yah I fear that we might be talking bout something and I might let something slip from my mouth that might cripple our friendship for the rest of our lives.

Well, it looks like I have to say something negative. I'm sorry, but there is something icky about this. I say ick and double ick. She's your cousin, man! You have too much of the same DNA. The rest of your family will be appalled. If you're not careful, she'll wind up giving birth to another cousin sitting on the porch strumming on a banjo.

Seriously, it's not natural. It's not healthy. There's a reason why it's illegal in most states.

^He just said they aren't blood related.

She's his aunt's child.

The girl cousin is the daughter of the man that gaimboi's aunt married. The girl cousin is gaimboi aunt's step-daughter.

That's how I understand it and that's why I think there's no blood relation at all? :? Would that make the girl and gaimboi cousins-in-law only? And even that might be a stretch.

there is a word for this... incest  There is no problem, and at least with former brittish empire law it is perfectly legal.

there is a historical precident of nobals trying to keep the blood in the family. I would suggest you William and Mary it.

I had a friend who married her step-brother, there was a lot of legal debate over it, however she managed to marry him.

IANAL, but he might want to check out the laws in his local jurisdiction. My local jurisdiction outlawed first cousin marriages/sex a few years ago and restricted step-family relationships. If things go well, it is always possible that the family might become vindictive and cause trouble.
