I will not seek any mate. Incase anyone is the slightest bit interested in me, you will need to voice that fact to me. I will not seek you. I am seeking you, incase you are reading, but I am uncomfortable expressing affection for anyone in particular. It has always resulted in negative events. Rejection, discomfort, akwardness, I just don't have the will to express affection for anyone, to make that leap of faith anymore. I fear creating those memories of pain. So incase you have the slightest interest in me, i will need for you to contact me, i wont contact you. I am too afraid.

On the other hand it is also fairly reasonable that nobody is interested to me so i'm talking to thin air. But incase i'm not, this notification is for you.

If you were gay, and I was gay, I'd give you a chance...after all, Michigan isn't all that far away for me! Sorry.

Hah that's funny I didn't realize you were from Michigan too Nomaken...and not that far away from me either. Unfortunately I'm straight and a guy so I don't think it would work out romantically ;-) I am similar to you though; I don't actively seek any mates out. I'm completely 100% non-aggressive. Flirting seems to go right over my head too unless it's pretty blatant. It sucks because I feel I could be a very caring and loyal mate if only given the chance.

I used to be completely passive when it came to finding people, but I learned eventally how to hit on people, guage what their responses will be before doing so and react dynamically whatever the response may be (though only really online; not in RL), and now I'm quite confident about approaching people online and have a lot of success.

It just takes practice and working through some tough, embarrassing moments that make you want to die. If you've been doing that and can't take any more, give it a break for a while, but being passive was a very unrewarding experience for me, so be prepared to go back to the embarrasment and awkwardness eventually.

I really should work on approaching people in RL; I don't go out much, so I have little oppertunity to do so and, while I can now pick people up online pretty much at will, doing so in RL would mean a return to constant rejection and awkward situations while I become more adept at it. :(

I have this internal "rule" that girls or women shouldn't initiate things with guys.
A few months ago I knew of this really hot guy who was interested but I couldn't bring myself to say anything other than hi.
I really know what you mean about initiating contact. I have absolutely no idea where that "Rule" came from but I can't get around it. ARGH!

This is a little bit easier but it is still painful..so Nomaken I can derfinately see your point.

(dateless in Maryland aspie female seeks single aspie male) jumps up and down and screams...

Haha...you sound like me, only I'm worse...I remember this guy used to practically stalk me, so I thought he might be interested...he sat behind me in math class and for like a week I tried to work up the courage to say "hi" to him, but I just couldn't, so I gave up...
