unexpected phone calls

how does an aspie react,respond to unexpected phone calls from anyone?

It depends on who's calling. Well if it's someone they consider a real friend, bad otherwise.

I look for the area code if it's one i know, i might anwser it, otherwise i will just let it ring, and then delete the messege. ( if there is one)

Not sure I'm necessarily aspergers but whenever the phone rings I feel a sense of dread or terror and leave it as long as possible, hoping somebody else will answer it which they usually do, unless I'm alone. This is a real problem where I work, they have recently decided they are going to make me answer the phone for variety or something. This is in a village bakery shop where anyone can ring. I am usually OK in speaking to them and apparently am good at disguising my fear. I only answer if nobody else does and/or I am told to (so I don't get fired)
Our landline is reallllly old and doesn't display any recognition of who is ringing, so I only answer if asked to.
I am OK on my mobile because it says who is ringing and only people I know have my number anyway however sometimes I do get nervous and either ignore or take time to answer it.

I don't like speaking on the phone. I only talk on the phone to my dad. If I'm away I don't especially like talking to my mum on the phone, but that's cos I don't really like talking to her by any method of communication.
