My friend is friend with someone who threatened me last week. My friend has never understood why I'm don't like this guy. He keeps trying to find out why me and my enemy don't like each other. I've blocked my enemy on facebook but not my friend. I keep feeling that my friends curiousity it is really him trying to wind me up and upset me and to pass threats from my enemy to me via facebook and text. I keep repeatingly telling my friend to stop telling me about my enemy and trying to interfere but he won't stop doing it. If he brings up the topic of my enemy again should I stop talking to my friend? If I do I'd have two enemies...this is stressing me out extremely

Andre Moreau (Scaramouche):"I can no longer be taught by the man who taught my enemy. So, what is more fitting in a mad world, then to be taught by the man who taught the man who taught my enemy!"

Enemy is a strong word. Have you explained to your friend that this other person is being threatening toward you? Maybe they just think it is a joke. Maybe they don't understand how you feel. Talk to your friend about this. Don't just say, "Don't pass on messages." Explain exactly what has happened and if your friend still doesn't understand and you are still being threatened then it may mean that your friend is not a friend at all and you may need to walk away.

I hope that doesn't happen and this is only a misunderstanding that can be fixed.

Ty for response. My friend keeps trying to find out why I am enemies with this guy. I keep saying that he threatened me a yet my friend keeps going on about it under the guise of 'curiosity'. However he keeps doing this despite me telling him not to and he keeps bothering me about it. I'm beginning to assume that he's sided with my enemy and is really trying to wind me up and bother me.

I have a similar problem, only with me it's because I try to be friends with everyone including my friend's enemy.

I don't let grudges carry from one person to the next where possible... but neither do I hide grudges.

If someone is willing to put up with my presence, it comes with the condition that if someone I absolutely hate is there too, I won't be shy about recounting what utter contemptible trash they are and how it would be lovely if they would commit suicide. I tend to do this with my most faked smile plastered across my face..... then completely carry on with whatever else like I never said anything.

Or I did.
Past tense now.
Hasn't happened in a long time.
Kinda haven't been out in a long time.

Two things:

1. I would stop responding to your friend if he keeps asking you why you do not care for the other person.
2. When you respond it eggs him on to put fuel into the fire.

Try telling him "Can we change the subject?" If he keeps bothering you like that then it might be time for you to cut that one loose.

Another approach when you can't explain it or trying to explain fails is to say you had a bad experience with him/her and you are extremely uncomfortable talking about it.

If your friend is not ASD they should back off straight away. If they are within the spectrum sometimes it's hard to back off even if they know it bothers you. I've known aspies who have social issues far worse than anyone I came across on here so far (even though it has only been a couple days now) so if they are within the spectrum you may have to push them away every day until they can snap out of it.
