Why is the world so misunderstanding at times?

This has happened to me a few times now, but every time I send a message to someone at least once in a while, they think I am stalking him/her! When I am not, of course. Why is this world so misunderstanding, I must ask? This is why I will NEVER get married. :(

i know what you mean. :-(

maybe if you start out with (or end with) stating something about not being a stalker or just being friendly or something?

People have a nasty habit of reading into everything that everyone does, even when they have no way of knowing one's true intent.

i've been there.
i really don't get how some people can be as boisterous, intrusive and chatty as they want with someone and get along just fine, then i come along, and they give off an aura of disgust. or, as is the case with text, not respond at all.
it must be physical appearance, or tone of voice, or something else i cannot comprehend.

It's nice that there are people on this site who'll have my back. :)

You've had the misfortune of contacting really paranoid people! What's this world coming to, anyway?

Of course I have your back!

Those are the wrong people to contact I believe. What is wrong with sending a message. Stalking is when you don't stop when they ask you to stop and you send like 100 messages a day to a person.

We got your back!

I have problems being misunderstood often. What ever my good intentions are, they are eventually perceived to be the opposite. It has ruined several internet friendships. I have only one person I would call a friend. Every thing else seems to fizzle :(
I totally relate to your being misunderstood issue, but no one has ever called me a stalker.
I have a savant skill of unintentionally upsetting people ALL the time!
Sorry if I offended anyone :/

I can come up with a few explanations on the matter:

1. They had bad experiences with you in the past
2. These are people who have heard nothing but stereotypes about people on the spectrum
3. These are people who like to cause trouble.

You might tell them "I am sorry you feel that way. Is there anything wrong with saying hello once in a while?"

I contacted one of my old roommates about 5 years ago via FB. The problem was when I lived with them that I wrote several bad checks next to doing other things that scared her. So she blocked me on facebook.

Then I have had it where I let someone go a few years earlier and when I try and say hi and they act like I am harassing them. Then they say "We are not friends as this is your only warning."

I have had this problem too on facebook. I would add someone as a friend after I met them in person and some have thought I was stalking or creeping on them when I wasn't. It has been mostly girls saying that. I don't understand why girls can't just see that not all guys that want to talk to them want a date or want to get into their pants.

It's been my experience that no one uses facebook to chat or IM. In my four or so years of using it, no one I know ever wants to chat on it. It seems to be used to brag about your experiences and post pictures, hence the "face" in facebook. It's the most antisocial social network I know.
