where is the aquairium again? is it closer to flinders st station? near the exhibition centre?
anyways can someone who is in charge give me a number (PM me ;) )I can call to find out where to meet up?

and /or PM me a link to your fb profile with a msg saying who you are. :)

I don't have anything on that day so hopefully 2-2 3pm will be fine, Ill try to remember. Im sure I will. :)

But I would like to meet up earlier in the day though, near lunchtime if possible, I prefer to get out of the city before 5-6pm. ;)

It's on Flinder's Street, about a 5 minute walk west from the station, on the corner of King Street. You'll know it when you see it!

We've decided to meet later because we've opted for dinner instead of lunch, with possible drinks after, so I think adding lunch to that as well might be a bit too much!

I was thinking of the Croft Institute as a possible place for after dinner drinks (http://www.thecroftinstitute.com/). It describes itself as "low key and relaxed", so that's promising. Also, it has a cool science theme!

Only pitfall is that it's closer to the dumpling place (very very close to the dumpling place) than it is to the aquarium and thus may be a bit of a walk away from everyone's cars. So if those who are driving have a more convenient option in mind I'm all for it.

Yeah the car issue was one of the reasons I thought a dumpling place close to the Aquarium might be better if there was one (and if so my bar suggestion was Insignia which is just across the road). I won't be driving so it doesn't matter to me. I have never been to Crofts but have wanted to for a while now, I have heard good things.

Unfortunately the dining options down that way are pretty limited unless you want to eat at Crown Casino, haha.

I've never been there, but Croft Institute looks good to me. That it's near the dumpling place seems like a good thing, since we're walking there anyway. So wherever your car is you'd have to walk back from the dumpling place to it, Croft Institute or not. Personally, I'm planning to take the train this time, anyway.

Assuming you can take the train and/or tram home you shouldn't have a problem, they run until 1am on weekends. I doubt we'll be out that late!

How about we meet up at 2:45pm (on Saturday) outside the Flinder's Street entrance to the aquarium? That way there's time for everyone to gather and hopefully we'll be buying our tickets by 3pm. After that we'll be heading to a dumpling house in China Town for dinner, and if everyone's up for it, a quiet bar afterward for drinks (assuming we can find a quiet bar on a Saturday, though the Croft Institute is a possibility).

Here's a picture just in case! The aquarium is located on the corner of Flinder's Street and King's Street/King's Way.

As for who's going, it looks like LachlanW, Yellowtamarin, FMX, and myself will be there, but correct me if I'm wrong or am missing anyone!

Sounds good, see you at 2:45. By the way, I love how you added "(on Saturday)"! You can never be too careful with these aspies. :D It's just one of these "only on WrongPlanet" things... I wish it wasn't, though.

Yesterday was great fun! The aquarium was cool, the dumplings were yummy and we even manged to find a relatively quiet bar after dinner. Thanks to everyone who came along :D
