So yes, its normal

I agree, and add C) when I am in a freakishly structured enviroment, then I am okay as well.

For those of you who think you can't get past the taste of alcohol, i just wanna tell you that there are an untold number of different drinks out there with different tastes and behaviors in your system.

Mans love of intoxication is a time old obsession and he's still working on it.

Now you may have actually tried a lot of different drinks, and if so then i can respect that you might actually be too sensative to enjoy it. I've tried 30 different kinds of coffee and i think it is disgusting every time and if i drink more than 2 cups i'll get food poisoning(puking repeatedly until dry heaving, stomach sore for 2 weeks, sometimes need to take fluids introvenously because i wont stop heaving)

I suggest you try long island iced teas if you wanna get BLITZED. It wont taste good, but it will probably taste the least bad you've ever had, and like 2 or 3 of them will get you totally plastered.

The least worst would probably be a sixth-Midori, a sixth-vodka, half Kiwi Juice, and a sixth lemonade. It's beautiful. Tastes like cordial.

When I first started drinking, and didnt know what to order when I went to the bar, my parents suggested a Tom Collins. For a while, that was all I'd ever get. Its basically lemon, lime, soda water, and gin. Its a very sweet drink, and its easy to drink a lot of them.

Vodka Collins is nice, too. Same mix and garnish, different alcohol.

My preference, though, is for topical cocktails like the pina colada, tequila sunrise or a banana daiquiri. They're much more satisfying when you're actually someplace tropical.

I find I can be much more social with a few drinks in me. I find I lose the inner dialog I have with myself over any little thing that happens and just act more spontaneously. I have to watch it though because if I drink too much I end up incredibly depressed and will spend a long time lying where ever I happen to be in an introspective state thinking about how people in this world do terrible things to one another and I also tend to be unresponsive to anyone trying to talk to me at that point.

Due to that state, I've tended to avoid drinking lately, as a result I get tipsy much quicker which is where I like to stay.

Whiskey mixed with some sort of soda, usually Coca-Cola is the thing that gets me social. But I have to be careful not to get even close to being drunk, or I can become TOO social... like laughing hysterically and sharing deep feelings with people I will regret sharing them with later.

Just a large gulp of wine to warm my insides is usually good enough. :D

When I was a lot younger, I needed the "liquid courage" to be social with others. Now, years later, I know that I'm MUCH better socially when I'm as sharp as possible. Therefore, I "pace and space - sip slowly and have a soda between drinks" in social situations and whish I had discovered this in my youth. I have also discovered that, as others get drunker, I always have the upper hand if I'm still sharp. Typically, when I drink to excess, it's at home and usually alone. (which is alot safer - I think)

I 'm a lot less nervous and more social after a few drinks, I get really really social and annoying if I'm drunk though. so I don't drink that much

I'm typically more social if i've had alchol but i still prefer to only have a few to relax me, getting excessively drunk just makes me do stupid things i'll regret later though

Count me in as one of the ones who discovered how much easier it is to socialize with alcohol on board. I didn't discover this till my mid-30's.

For me what it does is put a blanket over my nervous system, so I'm more relaxed, and can tolerate other people better, and I care less about what others think of me so I'm easier to be around. I can let loose and laugh. I lose my self-consciousness. It's great! Unfortunately, I'm on a medication that doesn't mix well with alcohol - I no longer get that blanketed feeling, and I fall asleep after 2 glasses of wine. So no more alcohol for me. I just try to socialize less now that I don't have my "social medicine".

And my favorite drink is the mojito - a Cuban drink that's got rum, fresh mint, lime and sugar. Very refreshing! That and sipping good Kentucky bourbon...

With me if I'm already in quite an antisocial mood, alcohol tends not to make a difference. But yeah, Jack Daniels with Coke is my dream beverage.

Rye and Coke is also a guilty pleasure of mine. I dont know what it is about Rye, but it gives me this cocky yet charming attitude that seems to work wonders on the women. I feel as sharp as a nail, like nothing can get past me. I say what I'm thinking, do what I'm thinking, and always have a blast.

I wish I could emulate this effect w/o the use of alcohol. But for whatever reason, there's a barrier inhibiting me from doing so. Obviously the ability lies within me, as it comes to the surface when I'm drinking. It just pains me to think that I need alcohol to release it.
