Debating (generally NT's can't debate without raising their voices and getting overtly emotional).

Ditto.

I don't understand why people talk about this stuff. (Pretend it's raining) We know it's raining, what's there to talk about? As for the first topic, who cares who you did it with and why is it a competition amongst guys?

Phatic discourse. It is thinly veiled primate dominance behaviour in which both parties assert that neither has plans to kill and eat the other party. You could replace much of it by sniffing rear ends or offering a banana, and nothing would change.

Greetings and farewells. How much time and effort have been wasted in the act of recognizing that someone exists and is now in your proximity?

"Beating around the bush." How much time has been wasted in people slowly circumlocuting around what they really want to say? I have had phone calls which lasted for vacuous minutes before the other person inevitably said "but what I was really calling about was..."

Edited to add:

Moog: whereas an NT may require a controversial subject in order to raise his volume and wave arms, I need little more than a reason to begin talking about algorithmic information theory.

We aspies mainly differ in that we can get quite worked up while ranting about something entirely uncontroversial and rather boring to most other people.

NT A: And that's why abortion is evil! [does karate chop gesture]
NT B: NO IT IS NOT! [clenches fist]

Aspie A: [delivers empassioned monologue on the importance of open source software]
Aspie B: [delivers similarly empassioned monologue on 19th century train technology]
NT bystander: You guys do realize that you are not actually arguing?

Happy Hours.

It's a problem if you drink too much.
It's a problem if you don't drink at all.

Plus, you are in a very noisy bar.

It's better if you avoid the whole thing. It starts out being nice and reassuring and you feel less alone but then comes obligation to others and conflict. I hate conflict as it makes me upset and meltdown and i hate obligation as i don't like feeling coerced. That also makes me angry and meltdown.

People who talk behind other people's back, and get off on causing drama and disturbing people's lives.

Relationships and friendships that aren't beneficial.

Church. :P
