Embarrassed to admit I have no friends
I have experienced having close friends and enjoying the good that came with it but in my years after 30, I became busy with my three children and a bad marriage. I no longer had time to make for friends.
Now that I'm in my 40's, I actually don't want them.
I view it all differently now. Friends can be demanding and needy. I guess I'm just too self centred now or simply don't have the energy anymore.
I also have a problem with control and I hate feeling obligated to show up for this or that at whatever time to do whichever activity is expected.
My kids and pets are needy and demanding enough for me sometimes sucking the life out of me.
Friends would put more expectations on me than I need or want!
You aren't abnormal to not have friends. Why would anyone even be asking you the question on whether you have friends or not anyway? I don't tell people or get asked whether I have friends.
If I would I guess I would just answer that I have a lot of things going on in my life at the moment and don't have time for socializing.
