I definitely used to apologize too much. Various reasons. Definitely insecurity for some of the times. If it is someone you know, you likely wish to keep them holding a high opinion of you. Someone you don't, well, then there's more options. Regardless, you can definitely apologize too much. How much is too much is hard to say, previous posts on when is "good" help some.

I would have apologized in that situation also, however i know i apoligise too much, i still think its better to say sorr sightly too often, than not enough.

You apologize too much, you're treated as weak or inferior. You apologize too little and you're an a**hole. If there's a middle-ground, I sure as hell don't know how to find it.
