Where I live, you cannot escape country music and rednecks.
Scary.....so scary......
It was a miracle I escaped and came to NYC... Ironically only to have one of my closest friends be a country-lovin' "gal" from Missouri.
Theres a difference between people like her and most "country loving rednecks". She wants a future and is looking towards one, getting an education.
Not saying all rednecks deny themselves an education, but where I'm from there was a large percentage of kids at our school who didn't like thinking about things much and decided since they didn't really give a crap about their futures, they'd just knock up their high school sweethearts and take up farming. We had more classes like "horticulture" than we did math classes. It was accepted.
I guess it's like with Socrates. "An unexamined life is not worth living". Their apathy towards themselves and shallowness disgusted me. (Whose truck was the muddiest and whose engine was loudest when revved. Who could blast country music louder.)
"save a horse, ride a cowboy"
has anyone been forced to listen to this disgustingly vapid song? Songs like this I hate.
All cliques and generalized groups of people have their ignorant, their empty. Where I'm from the rednecks are just the most obvious.
