No friends my own age. Is this normal?
I would say I've never had any "friends" per se. Only had two people the same age as myself that I was close with.
I used to see one regularly outside of school, admittedly I used him because he had video games and I didn't until I left school. Haven't spoken to him for years and I wouldn't consider contacting him because of how badly my life has gone downhill.
Sadly the truth is that getting friends seems to require a good degree of experience. I theorise that if you don't socialise regularly from an early age you will struggle in a country with a smaller population (Scotland).
You also have to be able to put up with a lot of people that you don't get on with or you dislike in order to filter through to the people who are on your wavelength. Fall down 4 times get up 5. The 80/20 rule.
