While I yearn to interact with more people on a level I would consider a deep friendship, the superficial interactions we're forced to endure on a daily basis is tedious, and often seemingly unnecessary. Sometimes I enjoy people in moderation only to discover they have jack sh-- under the hood that suffices bothering to get to know them better. Seldom convos steer towards something I'm interested in and its usually expected to try and entertain the other person with tidbits about whatever they like for their benefit. I also am disgusted by the gregarious amount of fakeness people put on. Most people are so obsessed with their image they cant be bothered to act how they really feel or really are. For the most part, my natural self is at least mostly on display and to not receive the same from people in a herd of people obsessed with the title of "cool" is incredibly distressing and disappointing. That's one aspect though I very much appreciate from the Asperger's community, there's no deception. We are what we are and that's how it is. No lies. This is also why I'm fond of animals like dogs.

Cats don't lie either.

Anyway we just have to keep being genuine, if you don't it will make you feel like crap. Not much choice there. And chances are that some people will appreciate you for being genuine, while people you would not want to be around get filtered away at the same time.

That's it, not many people around, but the ones that are accept you as you are.

Yes, most people are incredibly fake and superficial. The openness here has been very refreshing and renewed my faith in humanity's ability for conversation.

People are best in moderation only...any extended length quickly becomes a chore to feign interest. I think personal plans later in the day should be kept to yourself unless it can spawn a conversation topic or another person is needed. To hear people casually say "I'm going to do vacuuming" and expect a response is pitiful.

I have no image. Not even in a place where people expect me to, like a funeral. Most people don't like that but honesty is always the best policy in my eyes, even if it is just lessening the bluntness of it (a trait we sadly must learn to cope with others well.)

Animals will always make better company in my eyes, especially cats.

Do I get tired of people? Yes, AND THEIR DRAMA TOO!! !! ! Seriously, I think people enjoy drama. I can't stand it! Hence, whenever my friends in school try to suck me into drama, I talk them into letting me be the mediator. The quality and the quantities of the mean thoughts that spin through their heads tha they share with me is unbelievable! The problem is, I'm always told to pick a side to anyone's drama, even if I don't know the person, just so I have something interestig to follow. It annoys me sooo much! But a lot of people are fake these day as well. Now THAT I get tired of people more than drama will ever make me. :hmph:

I find them very, well... not thorough. They change conversation topics every ten seconds, it seems! Sometimes, I try to say something, but can't, then when it is finally "my" turn, they have already switched topic so much that it was I meant to say is off-topic. That is especially painful when there are many people.

Well society has conditioned American to like drama, I can't really comment for other cultures. I think partially people need a balance between being like an adult and being childlike. Often the dichotomy of it is far too large.

To be a mediator is incredibly frustrating for me, how do you do it?

COnversations should have a consistent topic for a decent period of time in my opinion. However, it is important to note that we think in hierarchies of information, where others are far more contextual.

I have another thing to note: people trying to talk to you when you're clearly stressed out. Seems they are fine with judging but have no clue how aspergians calm themselves.

As I agree with ideas, not people, I am often seen as "in the middle", as some kind of honest judge. Often, in debate-like conversations, I openly contradict the people on "my side" if they are wrong, or right for the wrong reasons. I feel others tend to create clear groups of opinions in these conversations, never going against other members of their "side". This is something I avoid.

Is that what you meant?

Or maybe I am cold and emotionless lately. Thoughts?

There is a wealth of information being communicated we largely miss out on. NTs typically find me boring if I go on about the minutia about my special interest.

I think, and I'd like anyone else's opinion of this, that our blindness to this non-verbal stuff tends to make us more radical than superficial. We can understand something which is more logical and prone to analysis than the general gist or public sentiment about something.

The fact that radicals have little respect for the superficial and vice versa isn't solely an aspie thing.

Well they communicate about microscopic life details. We focus on our special interests often and it just tires them out trying to keep up with all the information I imagine.
