Yeah...when I'm watching my favorite shows, which are comedy, I scarcely laugh, usually looking really serious, and when someone asks if something's wrong, I say no, and they ask me if I'm enjoying the program, and I say, "Yes, it's hiliarious."

I have to remind myself to laugh sometimes when I am watching my favorite shows. I can see where that comes from.

Before I started taking anti-depressants, the more inappropiate it was to laugh, the stronger the urge was. At one funeral, I was biting my cheeks so hard I was making fish faces to keep from busting out laughing. I wasn't laughing at the funeral but I guess it was a way of relieving stress.

Most people I know think I'm a very withdrawn and buttoned-up kind of person but for some reason fart jokes send me into hysterical laughter, and also if I ever see a movie or TV show where somebody moons somebody else. Also, if I am sitting with some people and somebody farts, I really have to control myself and not laugh about it.

I also laugh if the person who is talking to me pulls funny faces or talks in a funny voice.

Most of what other people laugh about on TV shows doesn't make me laugh and that is probably why I don't like the canned laughter on lots of TV shows.

I laugh to things in my own head often... I'll just remember something funny, or think of something in a differient funny way and just burst out into laughter.

I also have situations where I get so worked up with funny things I can't stop, I am usually not like this, but I can get in a state where every thing is funny. I usually don't laugh really hard at "normal" funny, but I do find it amusing. But if I find something really strange and out of place I can laugh really hard... It doesn't matter where its from.

I also used to laugh when I was being reprimanded, I was being accused of something and I just couldn't stop from laughing. I was even telling the truth about what I was being accused of, but I was laughing, so they didn't believe me. But in situations where I have lied, I can do it with a straight face. I don't get reprimanded much anymore, so the situation doesn't happen. But if it did, I'd probably go back to laughing.

I do tend to laugh at rather odd times. I am prone to inappropriate giggling over something that is just not funny at all, or even something that is serious and sad. History had me in hysterics at high school: I remember one time our teacher was talking about Venice being the iron fist in the velvet glove... I would frequently wet myself! Didn't help that I was in a room of rather stuck up and standoffish young people who would just stare at me like I was crazy!

Remembering movie moments often send me into a small fit. Highlights are Matt Dillon's reaction after he hears that Mary has found out about his ploy. Also Jim Carrey jumping the gap in the bridge toward the end of Me Myself and Irene... he just goes straight down!

Often I'll be sitting in some place public, the moment runs in my head and I chuckle to myself. Sometimes I have random thoughts that incite laughter. Most recently, I saw a little girl, maybe 3 or 4, standing on the edge a public water feature. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of the hysteria if I pushed her in. I'm chuckling about it even now...

Cruel, but hilarious.

One time I was at a speech tournament and due to my profientcy for that when I went to the Dramatic Inturpratation competion (after I was done for the day, early exit) I was warned that if I laughed at anyones she (as in the girl that was competing) would kill me. It ended up working the opposite way though because some DIs are funny for ironicabilities sake and I normally wouldnt have laughed but I was so nervous about not laughing that I did laugh at a very bad time, luckily she didnt kill me after all.

I actually have a real problem with this.

A real problem. Any thoughts on how to stop laughing at inapprpriate time?

That is funny though, especailly if no-one owns upto it.

Oh God, I remember this time in 5th form, this boy with a squeaky voice was talking about his game that he thought up in front of the class, and I was actually shaking with laughter. I couldn't stop.

He laughed all through my presentation on purpose.

Once when I was about 10, I was sitting behind a girl in class whose butt crack was showing. I couldn't conrtol myself and was sent outside and told to come in when I thought I could be sensible.

Those are just two occasions where I have gotten in trouble for innapropriate laughter, and I have also probably laughed at insensitive things, and I pretty much only laugh at the wrong times in movies, too.

I also get into fits of laughter when thinking about situations in my head.

i fell out of the bath once and i did hurt myself but was laughing and crying at the same time? my mum came to ask if i hurt myself and i couldnt answer for laughing she ended up saying i was off my head. another time my ex husband had an asthma attack and i phoned the dr he asked if he coughed up phlem and the word phlem made me laugh hysterically. in the film raising arizona when nicholas cage robs the store for huggies is just hilarious i dont like the rest of the film but would watch it just to see that part.
