Hi, my name is Dan. I am 47, and have been officially diagnosed for seven months. I am married and have four children. I live in a rural area sixty miles northwest of Indianapolis, Indiana. I am a graduate of Purdue University, School of Nursing. I have been a registered nurse for over 20 years and currently am employed at a large Veterans Affairs hospital in Indianapolis. I also am a retired US Army officer.
My favorite TV shows are Lost, Bones, and public TV shows such as Nature, Nova, and Antiques Roadshow.
I don't have much time for computers and don't really enjoy video games. I didn't have such things as a child buth then no one did.
I do enjoy hiking, reading and fishing. I have started running again.
I have had several special interests in my life. I have moved from rock collecting, astronomy, stamp collecting, reading all about World War II, reading gardening books. I was obsessed about the Army when I was active. I used to be obsessed with religion but I'm not anymore.
My most favorite books are Lord of the Rings and Endurance: the story of Shackleton's Antarctic expedition.
My most favorite movies are Lord of the Rings and Monty Pythons Holy Grail.
My favorite music styles are jazz, big band, Bach, Mozart, Sinatra, Andrews Sisters, 70s/80s rock. I still like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. I may be one of the few people now who knows the lyrics to Chattanooga Choo-Choo and the Carmina Burana.
I have a therapist who helps me with social issues. She thinks I have may have ADHD, also.
Well, that's who I am. Knowing about AS has been very liberating.

Hi, I'm a 21 yr old guy in undergrad. Only recently have I started to realize I was different than normal people (in regards to socializing) my entire life. I've gone to a counselor/therapist who told me to try and practice socializing with people.
The only problem is I hardly know anyone to talk to. (I'm a loner) :(

So, here's my proposition. I'm looking for a "socializing partner(s)" who I can talk to probably through chat/audio/video i.e. skype.

I'm not just looking to improve my skills. I always thought the whole idea of pen pals was a pretty cool idea. Without sounding too corny, I genuinely just want to connect to someone from a place completely remote from my life.

Hobbies are games, guitar, music, and MOVIES (cinephile)! But honestly, I don't care if a person shares the same hobbies (in fact, I think it might be good for me to talk to someone who doesn't share my values).

I'm look forward to this. A bit nervous but looking forward to it. :D

Would like to hit some people on here up, but you ain't got any outside contact info, and that just makes it a bit hard for me to get into contact with you all.

Anyways, if you wanna talk to me, add me at my Steam account, which is right here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Kein_Mitleid

Now about myself. Would like to start out with the fact that I'm a male 19 year old bisexual atheist. I'm a pretty big guy too, and I happen to be short and balding already. I've learned to accept it. I don't have much going for me at the moment. No life, no license, no job, etc. Still live with my parents and plan on going to college this school year. Despite being autistic I am a pretty sociable guy online and I am not shy at all to do audio or video chat, or the phone, you know, anything of the sort. Interests include drawing, reading, movies, music, eating, talking to friends, as well as things I am not able to do due to my situation, so I believe they are not worth mentioning. My humor style is usually immature and ironic, so tell me if it gets on your nerves. People who spontaneous and talkative I tend to do the best with. I don't care much for depressed antisocial behavior, and I especially do not like a**holes and sociopaths.

Hi, I'm Tom, 42, married, no kids. I live in Hawaii. I work on a farm, mostly coffee, some tropical fruit trees.

I like gardening, plants in general, astronomy, geography, history, foreign(non-US) cultures and lands, badly made, older movies, older tv shows, especially Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Dragnet, Mission Impossible. These days I mostly read non-fiction, but also like some sci-fi.

I'm not diagnosed but pretty sure I have AS, at least I share a lot of traits and experiences. PM me if you like.

Hello my name is Anthony. I'm 22 and currently taking a break from university. I'm diagnosed with Asperger's. I like math, business, economics, Libertarianism, some philosophy, soccer, gym, and video games.

It would be nice to meet some friends, especially girls. I prefer to be around intelligent people because I can be an inadvertent jerk.

Just PM me. I've posted some pictures on here. We can just be friends or penpals or whatever.

Greetings I'm an 38yr old Aspergian male whom is sincerely seeking friendship with either men or women within the realm of 25-50yrs of age.. I tend to be somewhat shy and bashful but, would enjoy meeting people from all over(including various walks of life etc).
I tend to find interest in film, music, books of varying nature & genre. As well, I, try to be as flexible as possible in terms of conversational material discussed. I honorably admit that I'm not good as always putting things into words i.e written format but, I never give up on myself or others in terms of difficulties and so forth.. Therefore, feel free to sincerely send any/all private messages in an according manner..

Most Appreciative,
ProfessorX

Hi :D
I'm always looking for more friends (actually, I don't have too many). I posted an introduction in the forum for introductions and there's quite a bit of information in my profile. I enjoy watching movies/anime, creative writing, drawing/painting, reading, and learning about anything out of the ordinary (I find religion/mythology, metaphysics, the paranormal incredibly fascinating). I live with my NT mother and NT (bipolar) brother, so I'm kind of an outsider. My father died a few years back and was a mentally ill alcoholic, so I can relate to weird family issues
I am writing a novel right now (I wrote one a few years back, but it was awful@_@ Not quite sure where I put my copies of it...) I can't do a lot of social group things because I get very distressed, though I enjoy the company of 1 or 2 good friends. Anyways, I'm open-minded and like talking to people that also feel like they just don't fit in.

Hello Unico! I enjoyed reading what you wrote. I too, do not fit in with the crowd. I like listening to obscure music from around the world, writing, reading, reading about other cultures as well as SF, fantasy, poetry(my favorites being Lansgton Hughes and the Beats). I like to take walks, as well as going to drum circles, not to mention cooking. I also dabble in anime as well(Studio Ghibli and a few others). People don't understand how fun it is to be detailed oriented. I often feel like I have to stuff that because they'll just get confused. As far as family goes, I have family in India and here. My mother is American, but she never stayed in one place. My father is from India and he lives with another relative and her daughter. Just to make things clear, I am not a hindu and I don't speak hindi

Hello! 28 yo female diagnosed with Asperger's about 3 months ago. I just got my PhD and am working as a fisheries biologist. I'm (newly) into computer programming, as well as dogs (I'm a German Shepherd enthusiast), gardening, photography, and science. I'm kind of "the dog lady"-- my dog (Echo) goes everywhere with me... he's my sidekick.

I just moved to my current location for my job, and have a difficult time making friends in person... I always giggle every time I see that "my friends live in my computer" cartoon, because that's definitely me... :D PM's are always welcome.

Hello. I've recently been diagnosed with Asperger's. I'm 34 years old, female and live in London (UK).

I hate writing about myself but I get the impression I'm not the only one.

I am interested in psychology and I love cats.

I would like to hear from other women in London with Asperger's.

58, gay male -- at this point, looking for friends. I'm finding that one of my most serious issues is not being aware of when people are crossing my boundaries, so I guess I'm saying that I probably do better with other quiet people like myself. I don't care at this point whether friends are gay or straight, since I'm not ready for dating yet (yes, I know, I'm awfully old to not be ready for it yet! ... oh well). I live in the north shore Boston area, but I work in Boston every day.

Female, 21, South East England.
I don't really know what else to say. Looking for friends ages 19-30 I guess.

If you're going to approach me and add me on another social network somewhere to chat further, please don't suggest that you'd be happy to meet up some day with only 1 day of talking to each other, it is very uncomfortable. I have noticed a fair few people doing this.
