I have made up many words and given some of them meanings here are a few

soptchugopticalgator
cheeberflettytattat
hubcappedhoptchula- A mysterious creature that sells hub caps and or tires
gugaddlegegade- grind up horse or cow blood and guts
gugaddlegegism- of or relating to a group of dirty cows or horses

. . . to name a few. None of them really mean anything, though I have added pictures to give a vague sense of what they mean to me. I just find the sounds satisfying and comforting. I like to say them to myself.

Now guess what they mean.

I don't so much invent words as I don't follow the rules of semantics. I drive editors batty by using a word to mean something different from it's usual meaning (ie. "A mole under her deft nose, from "Yvonne Craig"). They think I don't know what the word means

"Yes I know what the word means! My degree is in English and my IQ is higher than yours, buddy. I just choose not to use it that way!"

I make up words, phrases, and names for objects and people that exist in my day to day life.

Pawdom... it is a category of people who posses a certain type of attitude. Within pawdom there are different types of paw people including the meatty, ptthy, and boots variety (to name a few). While there are different types of paws, you are either a paw person or you are not.

Meercolis... it is pronounced kind of like the spanish word for wednesday and is used to describe a person who whines too much.

Smeshgrawl.. the remaining feeling of ick from an impressive bug encounter that makes you shudder and feel like bugs might still be on or around you. Like basement cleaning bug specific heebie jeebies.

(in keeping with smeshgrawl) Shrunken head syndrome... when the heebies and or jeebies are so bad that you get goosebumps on your head, thus making it feel like your head is shrinking.

Oosroosies... the last bit of a water based frozen dessert (or drink) that has melted to a slushy mixture before you could eat (or drink) it. For example, those popsicles that come in those long plastic tubes... the liquid stuff that collects at the bottom of those are oosroosies.

I play with words, but not to this extent. About as far as I get is messing with existent words, to create the idea of inventifying other wordules. See, not in your league at all, people. Much respect!

I made up a language years ago. And I coin words for personal use. I also tend to create convenient acronyms for set phrases (as was popular in the 1800s in the US).

'Whickafa' sounds like an exclamation of confusion or peturbation, and 'mursh' sounds like something someone might say to convey smugness or satisfaction. The others sound like too many different things to conjure a clear picture in my mind when I read them . . .
