First of all, I know that a topic like this has probably already been started, it's inevitable, but if it's in another forum or something and it's not completely dead, then just let me know. Anyway, moving on.

First of all, I would have to give some background info about myself if you did not read my introduction. I am 14 years old and diagnosed with AS. (Asperger's Syndrome) I don't have any other friends with Asperger's.

In the past, I have had many problems with NTs and their "monkey-like antics" (reference to someone's signature if you don't know) because I just cannot understand what they are doing. My mother explains it to me as "just being a kid", but I think of it as being really immature. Their jokes, pranks, and social hierarchy does not amuse me. For example, when one kid decided to be a douche and take my backpack and hide it in another part of a small room, I asked him why he did that and he lied and cursed out at me and said the "N" word and everything. I felt like he was taking advantage of me by putting me in front of a crowd and embarrasing me because he knew that, because of AS, it was extremely difficult for me to handle these situations. This is not the first time that something like that has happened. I also have problems with NTs when I try to explain things to them and why my advice is in their best intrest, they just laugh and have this confused look on their face. I don't want to be their parent, but they should know why I say what I say, or they will just ask me later. And the worse part of this is that I don't understand why they don't understand. So I just leave it alone after that, and I don't understand still.

I'll probably add some more situations to this thread, but I will wait untill later. Post what you think. Thanks for your paitience.

First, Neurotypical is a hypothetical ideal, not a common noun. The people you're referring to are simply 'Non-Autistic'. But I'm sure we all know who you mean

However, even after 50 years, I can't offer you any great insight into why many of them do some of the cruel and obnoxious things they do.

I will warn you though - they hate unsolicited advice - you really have to get that impulse under control before you foray into the workforce, because giving people honest assessments of their plans, ideas or actions will get you ostracized and even fired.

This is true even if they ask for your input - don't fall for it - if they say they want constructive ideas and suggestions, they're just baiting, to draw out those who don't have the social skills to recognize the trick for what it is, and eliminate them from the herd. The minute you actually tell them what you think, especially if its to improve something - they will attack you. The only correct response in these situations is to enthusiastically approve of whatever they're proposing, no matter how stupid or flawed the plan. If you can't hypocritically feign approval, then say nothing.

I truly believe that NT's represent true hell on Earth. They are the most evil species going.

That is so *very* true, and almost completely without exception. One co-worker friend of mine once did eventually see the wisdom in hearing what I had to say while we were working together on a specific project (more his than mine), but I have never experienced that anywhere else.

The majority of the population; or at least the ruling people. They can be good or bad depending on the NT in question. Just as within the AS population. But I rarely get them... unless they're odd for NT's

You make me laugh (with, not at.) But yeah, they're just people. They are what they are. And they are all sorts of things.

Well, yes but...

As an Autistic person, I have difficulties with people in general.

Granted, most of the 'people in general' will not be Autistic but I've had problems with most of the few people that I have encountered who seemed to demonstrate clear autistic traits.

I'm not sure that NTz have a monopoly on being a**h**es or any of the other bashing descriptions that I sometimes read on WP

Despite what some here would like to believe, I think most of them are good people. At least as adults.

It's easy for someone who has been bullied repeatedly throughout their life to feel that the world is against them, but I've found that there are more people in the world who are actually latent friends than there are bullies.

I recognize that NT's act the ways they do as the end product of evolution and so I consider them innocent in the same sense I consider birds innocent in that they can't not act like birds, and cats innocent in the sense that they can't not act like cats, and so on.

I also find them curious. I find it particularly curious that they are so preoccupied with other people. I also find many of their fears and insecurities curious....particularly the fear of those who are different than they are.

What does it matter if someone is "weird" if they are "weird" in a benign way? I think this may be an extended manifestation of fear of the unknown.

It's quite ironic. Many of those with social anxiety have social anxiety because they cannot anticipate the interactions of the situation.

I believe NT's who are afraid of those different than they are, experience this fear for the same reason. They do not know what to expect from those who are different than they are, and because they feel they cannot perceive what this person is thinking or predict what the person might do, they instinctively assume of this person negative things.

What I've learned, observing my mum and her attitudes, growing up, is that the female NTs are backstabbers, who are unable to accept autistics, as they are, and that people with obsessions, should be reguarded as freaks. What I've learned by living in the real world, is that NTs of both genders are very accepting, and that it's okay to be the way that I am, today.

Well, I'm not going to say I haven't had those thoughts, but isn't that a bit much? I think that NTs can be difficult at times, but we are really outnumbered, so...

And just something else, the other day I was talking to this NT that I had problems with last year and this year in the summer program that I'm in, and I was talking to her about why she joked around and did stuff like she did. And I'm regarded as an intelligent person, not trying to be arrogant or anything, just saying what my peers think of me, but I couldn't understand why. Not that I couldn't hear, I just didn't communicate with her well. More soon, but someday I going to have to understand NTs and their ridiculous antics...

Many NT's seem to thrive on drama and conflict and playing with peoples minds-they get a kick out of doing that and we so don't-have no time for that crap.

That's true. NT's really bother me with that stuff. I mean, as an aspie, I like things direct, and to the point, not deeply encrypted like a top secret code. The social behaviors of NTs, I will just never understand... And I'm glad I don't, lol.
