I hate some people... okay. So I don't really hate the people... But I strongly dislike the fact that they like me only for the fact of my "quirky-ness"...? Annoying. Why don't people see the quirkyness and just deem it as being interesting? I think I'm interesting.

I remember crying to my sister, on the point on suicide, and saying how I dislike being not fitting in with everyone else. It was so hard to say that, because it shows weakness. However, all she had to say is, "I thought you enjoyed being quirky?" ... WHAT??! !!??? Of course not! Until I heard that I was allegedly quirky, I had no idea. I mean, I heard the occasional, "You're quite eccentric." But I never took it seriously. You know??? I mean, I find eccentric as an image some "Normies" (Normal People) try to acheive. But I never knew I had that quality, I just thought I didn't fit in for some reason.

But now I get it. I do have trouble speaking to others, and I slur and talk fast. Not only that, but the words in my sentences may be jumbled up. So instead of HOW ARE YOU? Ill nervously spit out YOU HOW ARE???? you know? its just annoying what my anxiety can do.

All in all, it doesn't matter how I word things and string words in a sentence. All that matters is the morals, concepts, and ideals that I am trying to verbally express.

Any one else a little irked at the "QUIRKY" comment?

Note : I posted this because I'm starting to feel that everyone looks at me like I'm a novelty act.

I often heard things like that. But finally that's not so bad. You look original, and certainly you are. You might have weaknesses but I think interesting people around you will see that you're interesting too. Those who only takes care about how you talk and how you look are dummies, and I think you shouldn't worry about what they think about you.

What's so bad about being "quirky" :?: I think quirkiness is funny & cute in women but I like lots of other things about there personalities as well. If guys like quirkiness it might be easier to find a boy-friend. I wish women liked mine instead of thinking I'm a weirdo who should be avoided

Being quirky is AWESOME! My friends all tell me I'm quirky too and I take it as a compliment. I'm very attracted to other quirky people too. Normal is boring.

yeah i get the whole weird, quirky and goofy remarks all the time. and it seems once they find that interesting, it is all they are interested in. i take it as a compliment and also as a put-down. i guess it depends on if im being literal with them or if i take it literal. it has gotten me into some awkward/trouble moments on a ever so regular basis in my daily life. i fail to connect with people in any meaningful/long-term/good way.

I have never bin called quirky, i just get called odd. And as a result i have become very "odd" to the point where i act odder (is that a word? sounds like one) then i am so when poeple mock one quirk or anothere they have less of a chance of hiting a nerv.

I get called "mysterious" or "a b***h". My ex loved that I was "mysterious" and so did most of my therapists I've fired over the years. People take offense to my being a b***h, what a surprise.

I thought quirky was better then eccentric? I imagine the old cat lady as eccentric, the artsy girl as quirky XD
I've been called quirky sometimes, especially by people who do not believe I have Autism. I'm not fond of it, but there are so many worse names (like loser, idiot, etc)

The word quirky is not generally used in a negative sense, you don't see people insulting eachother by calling eachother quirky. My online friend recently described me as being quirky, I didn't mind at all, even though I don't actively set out to be "quirky" (quite the oppisite) but if that's what I am then I don't see a problem with it.
