I keep reading advice about getting out there and meeting new people. But I was thinking, I already know quite alot of people. I have moved around alot and know people in various places throughout Scotland. Do I really need to meet any more people and continue this cycle of meeting folk and not really developing any friendships.

If I keep moving I will just continue the cycle. But I get stuck. I only seem to get so far with people. I'm not sure what to do to become "friends" with someone. I say this because my sister has friends that she meets up with at the weekend and I don't meet up with anyone.

Short answer; think about yourself and what you do, how you relate to others. Think about what you could do differently. Experiment.

One of my mentors used to say these things:

1) Friends are people who like doing the same things;
2) If in your lifetime you make one true friend, you will have done what millions have failed to accomplish.

Just go do the things you like to do and keep watching for opportunities to be a friend.
