This is my biggest pet peeve. It is something that many people do and something that many people never examined.

It is the irrational act of insulting people based on irrelevant things.

Maybe they are overweight.
Maybe they smoke.
Maybe they drink.
Maybe they aren't good looking.
Maybe they aren't intelligent.

But these usually aren't the reasons why we dislike people or end friendships, but these are the things we insult people we don't like with.

Call someone you don't like a fat pig? Well don't you have a friend or anyone in your family who is overweight? Are they a pig?

Call someone you don't like ugly? Well you may have a friend or family member who isn't the best looking, why not call them ugly?

Call someone who is less intelligent than you a stupid idiot? But i'm sure a friend of yours that is even less intelligent than that person is not a stupid idiot, right?

You may not like someone because they are unfaithful, neglectful, meanspirited, arrogant, but not for these reasons.

Who agrees with me?

I have to agree with you as well. Some of us learn not to do such things when we are at the receiving end of such slurs.

I never take people seriously when they decide to insult someone like that because I think they are doing it to hurt the person and they don't really mean what they say, it's just to hurt them.

very much agree with what you say and since we are blessing with a condition that makes us different I think aspies tend to be more aware of this issue. to me it's disturbing especially when it is an issue the person has no control over.

Wrong. If someone is an idiot, isn't that a valid reason to dislike someone? I can understand everything else, but yes, I do in fact dislike dumb people. Not because of the fact they are dumb, but their stupidity is usually a catalyst for stupid things, which I do hate. A little bit of common sense here and there and the world would be such a better place.

Insults are usually not said to the person's face to hurt them though.
They are usually said behind the person's back to make one feel better about him/herself.
